How about this...

With Cato June being released from Tampa, it seems like a decent idea to pick this guy up. He is a starter, not that old, and he was most productive in his career while playing under Ron Meeks. The guy can fly. He is a baller. What do you think? Before you answer do your research because a "no" without any type of support is completely pointless.

He is a weakside LB. He had like 5 or 6 INTs for Indy one season.. (I think their super bowl year). It depends on what defense we play next season. If we are switching to a Tampa2, then yes, I saw he would be a good pickup if the price is right. But, if we are sticking with our defense, then no, let's not pick him up.

I think he was strong-side in Tampa and weak-side in Indy. His better numbers were in Indy at weak-side.

Davis plays weak-side. Diggs has been strong-side.

If we didn't just restructure Landon Johnson, and if we then cut Diggs, I might say "Sure, go after Cato."

But...since we restructured LJ and Diggs probably isn't getting released, I don't see any point.

I always hate threads that start out with "how about this". Sorry dude but how about doing your research first. IF we pick up a LB for any reason it will most likely be in the draft for a future talent. We got all the starters we need a that position.

:iamwithstupid: :cheers2:

    • well, the comparison is to last year.  The OL is a 180 degree from that.... and overall on the season they have had better skill talent for the same QBs behind a MUCH better OL.    So yeah, the O not looking any better overall is a red flag for Canales.
    • I just want somebody to settle into that Hangartner role and I may give Mays too much credit. He played so well early and has fell off since injuries crept into his vocabulary.  He was struggling to get push on those goal line runs today.
    • You cannot say it doesn't matter who is playing QB ever in any circumstance. The first two games of the season, Bryce was standing in the pocket with time missing throws left and right. We were running the ball well, but even the gimme throws Canales was setting up, Bryce was missing. Then you start Dalton, boom easy win at Las Vegas. By week four's end, three of our best defenders are seriously injured, center injured, 2nd best veteran WR hurt, and best veteran WR quitting on the team.  Canales is a rookie head coach, and he definitely has had some see what sticks moves. But players are being schemed open, the rookies are progressing nicely, and you have the albatross of some terrible lack of talent to phase out. I give him credit alone for pulling Mingo, Thomas, and going with the better/younger producing players. The scheme is better, he just needs better players and I am not going to write him off until he gets more talent, starting with QB!
