Charlotte Observer Sports Deadline is Pathetic

Somebody sent me a telegram today.

I for one still love the newspaper A) with a cup of coffee and breakfast, B) when I fly and C) when I'm going poop. A laptop or tablet just don't cut the mustard during those times in my life.

And yes, the Observer deadline is terrible.

The Charlotte Disturber and their horrible sportswriter staff has long sucked just as bad as their daily news deadline sucks. I used to get the daily paper, but it's been YEARS since I bothered with it. I can find all of that and more on teh intarwebz easier and faster than it's in print. I'm reading the news seconds/minutes after it happens as opposed to waiting until the next morning to read what most everyone else already knows hours prior.

Plus there are apps for the news and mags. Just one more thing I use my phone for.

In a completely unrelated matter, some colonists threw tea off a boat. I saw it in todays paper.

I'm a Hilton Honors Super Platinum Diamond x Infinity member and I get a free USA Today hard copy every morning when I wake up. So there! Newspapers will always have a niche as hotel points fodder.

I don't care whether you like it or not, newspapers suck... but if you want to read them go ahead. I don't waste my time or money.

I don't read the paper for scores and updates normally either but I just think their deadline is stupid early for a "big city" newspaper. The Mayberry Times I can understand.
