whatever it is, do extensive research.. if it smells like MLM, looks like MLM, obviously it's MLM..

that is such a saturated market.. make sure you have some guarantees or a concrete path to earning money.

9 out of 10, nothing is brand new.. don't buy into some gimmick that's trying to tell you this is an untapped market. everything is tapped.

also, you are not special. however, hard work and a problem solving is.. if you think you cannot fail, trust me: everyone can fail. failing isn't the problem.. issues will arise, it's how you handle them that will depend on success or failure.

affiliate marketing & online businesses are such a saturated market.. make sure you have some guarantees or a concrete path to earning money. (be well thought out with your endeavor)

oh, and unless you are creating something on your own.. there will be someone on the other line trying to pimp their Ish to you.. they are merely words. Ignore most of them.

Yes the cliche statement of "work smarter, not harder" has a point, but even that doesn't replace going the extra mile.

I dabble in some online stuff but TBH as said above its TAPPED. Everyone is doing everything and they have more buying power than you. Also there are some good ideas out there but not much traffic pushing them. Just the way it is right now so dont quit your day job.

For all intents and purposes, the adult entertainment business created the affiliate business model as we know it. So I've been working with companies who use it for the past 10 years.

It's somewhat played out. The days of making real money in this realm are dead except for the folks who really make it a full time job, truly understand the audience they are catering to, and are particularly savvy in the ways of Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

I won't tell you that you *can't* supplement your income by working as an affiliate/referrer, but I think you'll find that it will take a lot of time and attention.

I will say, however, say that whatever you're selling should be something you're passionate about and ideally that will be something of a niche (or micro-niche) market that's somewhat under-served in the marketplace. It's a lot easier to stand out to such audiences as they aren't as likely to find someone who understands their interests as easily. Consumers get more and more sophisticated every year and they thrive on authentic, informative information.

my friend is a programmer and found a higher paying job for an escort service.. I stopped in to sell them on employee benefits and found out they are thriving with over 120 employees.. (can you say gold mine?)

I'm not sure what all they involve, but they cover most everything under the sun.. amazing how the economy didn't affect them too much.

he has some interesting stories about what they offer..

Just out of curiosity, was this local to Charlotte or elsewhere?

if done right and with the right product, can be lucrative. with disposable income being uber low or non existent, it's much tougher.

if it can be products that most def add value to someones life or is a big need, possibly it can still do well right now.

tough tough market out there right now.

good luck
