Just got back from it, and my God it was like they moved the setting to Thailand, switched some supporting cast members around and re-made the movie. Expectations were low going in, but I was really disappointed overall.

The original was funny and we could watch it a few more times and still pick up on some things we missed the first time.

But it became very cliche-ridden and before you knew it half the lines of the script were becoming part of our language. In the same sense as Caddyshack, it's very funny until you start hearing lines from the movie repeated on a daily basis by everyone around us who thinks the joke is in the words, not in the delivery, timing and circumstance.

I occasionally play golf with a guy who spends the entire 18 holes spewing Caddyshack lines- it's like that. Might be different if he was any good.... at golf or delivering punch lines.

I've always been a big fan of Old School, Wedding Crashers, 40 year old virgin. Those movies were just really funny. Seems like the ones the past few years have just been kinda "ehhh" I didn't care for Superbad, and the original Hangover was funny, but I still liked the movies I listed earlier much much better.

yeah, I'm banning myself from these threads.. I saw what happened to people when the last movie came out, I'm keeping my expectations low and avoiding "movie reviews"..

I hate it for the people who had the 1st movie ruined.. utterly hilarious!
