Rivers likes idea of Smith to San Diego...

Anything less than a 2nd and we are screwing ourselves. Smith has at least 3 good years left. I would bet more.

He has had a couple down years not of his doing.

Teams that want him, know what they are getting. Seem the majority of the folks on this forum don't.

I don't see any team giving up a 2nd rounder for him. His age hinders that possibility.

what would be an actual trade scenario? What would smitty really be worth to them? Would we some how be able to pull off a 2nd rounder for Smith? I'd be surprised if we get a 4th to be honest.

We'd probably be able to get a 3rd from a team, like San Diego, that expects to be picking at the end of a round, but a 4th from a team, like Buffalo, that probably expects they will be picking closer to the top of a round. In other words, we would likely get anywhere from a mid 3rd to mid 4th for Smitty.

His age, recent injury history, and declining production over the past couple of seasons (regardless of reasons) would likely lower his trade value.
