Leaving for Germany Tomorrow

Recommended Posts

I second the Prague trip. Check out some border towns (Czech/Germany) for bootleg movies, clothes, etc. Just be weary that a lot of those towns are huge sex trafficking areas targeted towards European truck drivers.

Some other areas in Germany to see -

Nuremberg: great mix of classic and modern. The Nuremberg castle sits at the top of a hill on an old cobblestone street. The castle itself isn't much to see, but the views are incredible.

The only concentration camp I ever got to see was Dachau, near Munich. Its very humbling to walk where it all happened. It is preserved fairly well.

Rothenberg: kinda boring overall, but this place is beautiful. Lots of postcards are made there.

Neuschwanstein Castle: the "Disney Castle" There are a few other castles nearby. Eagle's Nest (Hitler's hideout) isn't too far away.

Berlin: should be obvious. Be sure to check out Tropical Islands Resort nearby. It makes water parks in the US look like mud holes in comparison.

Rhine River Cruise: get the 7 hour cruise. You pass a castle, or ruins of a castle, about every 45 seconds.

Also, make sure you go see Prague. It's the most beautiful city in Europe. Some of the most beautiful women as well.

I got meningitis in Prague don't go!!!!! Seriously wish I could have seen more of Prague. Try and make it into Austria, one of the most beautiful places in das world.

There's really not much to say besides have a great time and be safe. I've said it a million times on here before, but study abroad changed my life and I recommend it for everyone who has the chance. As a matter of fact, I just got back from a week in California visiting friends I met during my study abroad. They're easily some of my best friends in the world. It's such an incredible opportunity; make the most of it! You'll get to see more of the world these next few months than many of your (American) peers will see their entire lives. Have a blast, brotha!

If your trying to go into France, I strongly suggest Colmar if you like wine and are into the small town vibe. I'd also recommend side trips to Innsbrook, Salzburg, Zurich, Lake Como, and Munich. All great places I had some of my favorite times in Europe at.
