Lauren could be forced to drop out of Idol finale

yes, theres a thread for it, but its the finale, won't have to worry about Idol for another year, so chill. :D

We're told during the rehearsal this afternoon, Lauren -- who has been losing her voice -- was supposed to sing three songs. She got through the first, struggled through the second and was unable to perform the third.

Our spies say a doctor on the set has ordered Lauren not to sing or speak, but there is a "real possibility" she will not be able to perform on tonight's show.

We're told if Lauren is unable to perform, producers will reinstate the third place finisher -- Haley Reinhart who will then compete against Scotty McCreery for the title.

Producers are trying to find Haley right now.

granted Adam Carolla isn't all-knowing and perhaps a little biased, but I trust he knows a little more than the rest of us on this topic.. and you're right.. he talks about piece of poo shows getting approved (even if it's just a pilot) over very well-written shows.

there are plenty of people with jobs who are making these decisions that for some reason have never been fired..

then again, it's all about the ratings.. and until The Voice came out, there wasn't anyone else filling this niche. I don't mind the singing and competition aspect, it's everything else that makes me want to puke anytime I've watched it.

Criminal minds for example a very well written and great show, had to write off two of it's main stars for budget cuts, to accommodate Two and a half men's HUGE budget.

oh lawd.. great example, considering 2 1/2 men should have been cancelled years ago.
