Cam going to these workouts is the same as Smitty playing flag football. He shouldn't be there.

U posting this nonsense is the same as being brain dead!

The LEADER of this team should not be there???

Dude, weren't you paying attention in the D.A.R.E. Program?

Just say No to drugs!

I don't, but if your so smart Fiz and they should'nt do it, then why are they? Are you in a position to know any more than me, or the players? It's not like the Panthers are the only team doing it.

lol I already gave reasons. me not personally knowing the players (well, not all of them) doesn't invalidate those.

you, on the other hand, don't get to weasel out of claiming they "need" to know this by accusing me of not having personal knowledge.

we're waiting :jc:

I can understand the injury aspect of workouts while in a lockout. The players must think they need to or they would'nt do it. I never accused you of not having personal knowledge, and I don't have to weasel out of poo. We would'nt even be talking about it if there wasn't this lockout garbage.

Listen clown. I am saying there are lots of bad things that can happen when the entire OTA/Team structure isn't in place. Discounting injuries, Cam can start developing some bad habits that could set back a lot of the positive work he has been doing. Without coach supervision, he could be reverting so some previous bad habits and whose going to correct him? Jimmy Clausen? Pike? Not to mention all the financial considerations of playing without a contract. Hell what about security? Greg Frye might come out to field with an uzi for all we know.

He is our #1 draft pick, and the foreseeable future of Carolina Panther football. My opinion is that it's reckless for him to be out there. Yeah it's good for camaraderie, but I am looking at the bad things that could happen. It could be argued that he is the one player that can't be replaced this year.

Slightly dense eh? His statement was making the point that Cam knows he's not yet the leader of the team, so by going to said unofficial team workouts, he is, in fact, showing his commitment to becoming the leader of the team.

These workouts will accomplish exactly what he said they would, allow him to participate with his teammates, build rapport and build relationships with his receivers. As the leader of the team he needs to establish himself as a leader with his peers on the team. It is a chance for him to begin to establish himself. Frankly he likely knows more about the playbook at this point than many of his teammates. Might be an opportunity to allow his teammates to begin to establish some trust in his abilities.

    • Meh I get the intent but signing the OGs at the highest price and coming out with a historically bad D isn't something other teams should do. The Bears took a better route. Older guys but cheaper. Only negative I got there is that they still need to take an OG this year but that 4th is 2026 so it really should be hard for them to make a solid swing before it's a gapping hole again.
    • The coach of the Chicago Bears just referenced the turnaround of the Panthers once they invested in guards.  He then has just signed 2 high profile guards.  How is that not copying the Panthers?  I agree that there is not a lot to copy here, but step back.  We lost Darnold before investing in the OL.  We lost Baker before investing in the OL.  We drafted Bryce before successfully investing in the OL.  We invest in 2 guards.  After a slow start, Bryce ends the season 4-5 and is very close to both Philly and New England.  Later, the new coach of the Bears references the Panthers and how they turned it around after signing high profile guards.  A week or two later, they announce they signed 2 high profile guards.  I think all GMs paid attention to what has happened here.  It may not be the sole basis for their decision, but the defense cost us 2024, not the offense.  In addition, we did it without our #1 WR, a top TE, and the cupboards were pretty bare at WR.  I think they noticed.  As you say, Frank, we shall see.
    • I was about to say he put up a damn near 40 inch vertical and a 10'3 broad jump, even if he only runs in the 4.6 range the guy belongs in the NFL, not sure he will ever be an elite back but he definitely can contribute
