Newton to take part in player-organized workouts

it was basically doubting whether a bunch of guys getting together with no medical supervision or coaching instruction with a new offense was productive.

What's the depth chart? What about training? What about drills? What if someone gets hurt?

Yeah building camaraderie is cool but you can do that by playing paintball or something.

Thanks for sharing. Man, that does make sense. At least to me it does.

Football wise these workouts gain us nothing. Maybe they can see some video on Chargers O/D and Phillys D but thats all.

But all of them will work out anyway so why not do it together build up some chemestry and more important get last season out of the way and focus on the new one (if any)

As for Newton... I doubt he is going to do anything big. But good to see him there.

It's what they need to do, lets hope there are no injuries to speak of and Cam gets a chance to get some work in with the offense. It's a damn shame they have to do this instead than OTAs.

yeah they don't need to have player run workouts and they're a dumb thing for a team like this to do for the above listed reasons.

unless you have a list of reasons they actually need to that don't revolve around you saying so.

I for one think someone with no contract should not be going to these things.

But in Cam Newtons case its a little bit of a stickier situation since basically he is the franchise guy and needs to at least spend some time with his teammates in a football setting.
