Who will the Panthers bring in to help on offense?

I'm talking about somebody to compete with or replace Fiametta. I doubt we'll keep two, but fullback was an important position for Chud when his offense worked. I think a lot of people just remember the big passing plays that year, but they had a lot of success running the ball out of an I formation with Vickers and Jamal Lewis during the season.

IMO, Fiametta is more than sufficient and will continue to grow in the position. He did good last year, as well as that being his first year starting..

I'll be shocked to hear any other reports...

We could do a Vincent Jackson for Steve Smith swap of disgruntled receivers. Some offensive linemen to give that unit depth and five legitimate starters.

If they do get VJ, then they need to address the RG position with either Dahl from atlanta or the RG from the Saints. Fug up the saints or falcons o-line in the process.

I sincerely don't think they can get VJ though, what exactly are the stipulations to acquire his services?

I don't know. I haven't really been breaking down tape or anything, but fb was an important position when this offense worked and the running game took a noticeable step back with the loss of Hoover. There were obviously several other factors, but I would feel fine about it if the team tried to make an upgrade there to help out.

Jackson was franchised, so you are going to have to trade for him and give him a new contract. I can't see him going back to San Diego after he sat out the majority of last year and has traded several shots with AJ Smith in the media. I just threw it out there because a couple of people reported the Chargers had interest in Smitty and he is from Cali originally. It might be the easiest resolution for all parties involved, but that is rarely how things like this work out.

The reports that I heard a couple months ago seemed to say that VJ was fine with playing under the tag - considering it's $10M, as opposed to the $3M when he was just an RFA.

I could see that being significantly more incentive to play. Him and San Diego can do their own version of the "Walter Jones Shuffle" for a while until they figure it out.
