Luck could have easily finished. He didn't want to go to Carolina or face the prospect of a lockout rather than take the sure thing (a) another year + degree at Stanford and b) a huge insurance policy that will pay him if he gets injured and fades in the draft next year.

how do you know? I doubt all the classes for architectural design at Stanford are offered during an early summer semester....that doesn't sound very realistic. There could be required internships and classes only offered in the spring or fall (that does occur).

there is nothing to suggest Luck opted not to go one of the most talented teams to have held the #1 overall spot in the last decade b/c they weren't a pooty enough team for him to help rebuild.

kid was on pace to earn a degree from Stanford in 3 years......not everyone wants to pass up college, throw away one of their last few years of youth.........to grow up and get a real job. A job that has a VERY high aspect of still beng there in a year. Very few QBs leave college after their sophomore year.....they aren't ready for lots of reasons ( also if Luck declared the media would have made him appear more mortal if he went through the process).

I get that you would want to go back and finish your degree and everything, but his draft stock was very high this year, so what if you go back to college football and injure yourself? or another prospect is regarded better than you(Barkley) and also after that dumb press conference that JR had, which Luck claimed he didn't hear about(I'm sure his dad did) affected his decision to come here. Seems to me that he wanted to go with Harbaugh.
