NYJ: ILB Bart Scott feels lockout is out of hand

New York Jets LB Bart Scott feels the NFL lockout is starting to get out of hand. 'We're bordering now on the verge of insanity. Fans don't want to hear about lockout,' Scott said. 'They don't want to hear about people arguing over $9 billion. They want the bottom line. Because at the end of the day, these guys are saving up throughout the entire year to come out and spend their hard earned money to see football. And we're telling them that they can spend their hard earned money but we're not playing until we figure it out. I listen to (Patriots owner Robert) Kraft. I don't agree with the Patriots on a lot of things, but I agree with him that we're really on the verge of irritating our fan base and damaging the fabric of the game.'

We have a feeling there are more players who feel the way Scott does.

I'm glad at least some people understand this pisses the fans off.

Normally I could care less about the opinion of any player outside of Carolina, but Bart Scott gets it. I think a lot of these statements, and in my opinion the player organized workouts, are all just a show so the public will side with the players. But I'm all for publicly airing any statement or activity that will get a deal done.

Just imagine how all of these journyman players feel. You know, the one's who are not making $7 mil a year, along with endorsement deals? I guarantee you that some of those guys are really starting to sweat.
seriously. either they are relying on the genorosity of players that have a lot of money (like ware is doing with some of the cowboys in sharing what he has) or they are hitting up their agents for money. the ones that have invested their money are probably going to have to dip into that some before too long. none of that is appealing. i can't imagine players wanting to go much longer.

More (scary) news about how the lockout is affecting those players who didn’t think to save their money when they had the chance.

On Tuesday, Salgado tweeted that he knew of an NFL player who just took out a $500,000 loan with an astronomical interest rate of 23 percent.

Ouch...
