If there is no NFL this year...

Since there is no CBA, we'd have absolutely no idea as how a 2012 Draft would look like.

It is sheer fantasy to think we'd have the #1 pick next year. Even if we did Marty would look like an idiot to take Luck when Cam hasn't played a down.

Even if we got the first pick it would be more likely that we'd trade the #1 for a boat load of picks in the 2012 draft. I'd be happier getting 7 more players that could be good contributors in our many positions of need than putting yet another QB on the roster.

There are certain rules that remain in place regardless of the CBA. The draft is one of them. Somewhere in the by-laws of the Draft if there is NO SEASON then the draft order remains the same as the previous draft.

I like you, Think if we do draft 1st we will trade the prick (typo or freudian slip) to the highest bidder. If Cleveland can get a wealth of Picks for Julio Jones then we would get at least two 1st out of the deal. Plus a bunch of other picks.

In Fact since Cleveland has 2 first next year Cleveland would be a prime target for trading.

The reason this discussion makes no sense is that we have no idea how they will decide the draft order if there is no football. It has never happened before. Secondly if there is a season we ought to at least see how Newton plays this year before we decide if we would draft another quarterback. Thirdly, if they don't play football in 2011, the NFl will collapse when the fans revolt and no one comes out to support them. And I really think that will be a real possibility.

For those who say things are boring so we need to generate threads, how about this. Since the world is going to end before the 2012 season concludes, it doesn't really matter who we draft.
