Father Son Bonding...

Recommended Posts

What do you do with your kids, or as a son how often do you do stuff with your dad, and what do you do?

My dad and I never really talk... Unless it's about video games or football. I'll hear from him every Sunday during the season. During the off season I just hear from him during the draft and when there are big free agent signings.

I probably do more with my dad now than I did growing up, but he did coach all my baseball teams...

I hang out with my boys, and make sure to eat dinner with them every night if nothing else. We like to watch cartoons like Star Wars: The clone Wars, stuff like that... and I'll get them out in the yard to throw the football as much as they will... I'm also very proud of all the places we've taken them over the years, they've seen a lot of stuff.

my son's still too young to really do anything with that I would consider bonding...

my dad and mom divorced when I was seven, but when he got us for the weekend or whatever he usually made a good time of it by taking us camping, to an arcade, fishing, etc... today he and I talk once every other week or so, sometimes more, but have way to much going on in both our lives to really have time to hang out... I am going to see him and my grandfather this weekend though, as they are gonna help me out with some plumbing work at my camper (really just an excuse for them to come and see it, lol)...

Time spent with my daughter is priceless. Taught her everything a girl should know. How to fish, shoot, bat left and right, throw, catch, change the oil in her truck, ride a four wheeler....

Time flies people, enjoy it while you can and give them great memories.

right now I make silly faces at him and fart sounding noises.....he seems to enjoy it. I might have to mix things up as I am sure at some point in the future it will no longer be "cool".

My dad wasn't big into sports so I really never talk to him about that. I didn't throw the ball with him (Im better because of it) He did drive me to all my sporting events and provided me with anything I needed. No clue on why I like sports so much though. Other than that one subject (sports) my father and I have a great relationship. In fact I consider him to be one of my best friends. I work down the hall with him, talk to him several times a day, and eat lunch with him several days a week.

Which reminds me I need to call my mom...she is jealous he gets to hang out with me all the time.

No one comes into being a parent with experience and it's a learning as you go kind of job.I consider myself to be lucky and am quite thankful for my relationships with my family.
