Why in the hell do analyst think we have no talent?

Everyone said we had so much talent last year and the word potential always went with Carolina Panthers last year. We end up 2-14, not looking so good now. We still have talent, and we still had it last year. But is a team who can possibly play great individually all you need to win? Not close. The panthers lacked two things last year chemistry and coaching with a direction supported by a future for the team. The Panthers have addressed the coaching and while I am optimistic, Rivera is still unproven. When it comes to Chemistry, well that is something that hopefully forms when coaching is established, but our team is too young to have chemistry yet, and we'll still lack it to some degree next time we play. Hopefully the lockout will end and our guys will be able to practice together and build some.

I was furious when I saw our boys in last place by analysts and fans as well. We had one really lousy year and everyone contributed to our loss. It couldn't be singled down to one person/player/coach.

Where is Jim Mora for a good ole' classic meltdown when you need him? "First of all, DO NOT blame that game on the Defense..." "Playoffs!!"

Bingo.

We have the same talent as last year with a new rookie QB. And we went 2-14.

outside the QB position, Carolina pretty much had comparable talent in 08, 09 and 10. Those 3 teams had comparable coaching as well.

The NFL is pretty much all about QB play. Decent in 08, painfully average in 09, and horrific in 10. That play dictates the records.

The answer to this thread is simple...

Because they're all HATERS with NO swag!

We'll see what they say when Cam leads us to a Division Title and beyond...

They'll be especially in our team's nuts and his nuts because we didn't even get in the reps due to the lockout. It will make what we do this year even that much more prolific!

If your expectation is that we will win the Division this year, you are dillusional.

New coach...rookie QB...playing in the toughest division in football. If we get to 6-7 wins this seasons it would be a HUGE success.

A little optimistic on this one, I think -

Shockey's not going to be a star - if he were a star, the Saints wouldn't have let him walk....

You said our DBs were ok, yet failed to mentioned our best secondary player (Gamble)...

I wouldn't say we have much of anything with out WRs...Didn't Gettis have 2 TD last year? That's nothing to get excited abt regardless of who your QB is...

      But again, you can restock a defense through free agency much easier than offensive skill positions. Spend all our cap space on defense, take a true elite prospect who also happens to fit a position of need in T-Mac, and then use the rest of our picks on defense. Again, every season there’s a smattering of great DL, LB, and DB options in free agency, a Top 10 WR never hits free agency, ever.  The only way you get one is through the draft or giving up 1st round picks in a trade for one. If he’s there when we’re on the clock, he has to be the pick, he’s just that good.

      It must be an early Christmas for JT O'Sullivan having Thielen back so he could put a coal in Thielen's stocking every chance he gets.  Honestly, the biggest surprise is not so much the anticipation. There were those moments here and there last year as well. It's that even that one positive quality he had seemingly vanished his first two games to where it looked like it was all but over, only for it to start coming back some until you get exclamation points all over this game film. And some of those throws were under a lot of duress, something I feel is something new. Finally, those deeper shots are starting to land. Not all of them, but enough that defenses may have to start respecting them. No guarantees whether this will end up as more of anomaly but I certainly hope it isn't. The Green Bay game was a sampler of what BY could be. Against KC, we got a meal. If we could start getting these meals regularly, we might actually have something to work with here.
