Actually, they missed the playoffs that year.

I find it comedic that I got killed for claiming around here for claiming the Pats are the top drafting team, yet just about every sports writer/reporter says the same thing.

You just dont have that many home grown Pro-Bowler + all those winning seasons + several titles by mistake. Only Pittsburgh is even in the discussion with them.

Perhaps I'm one of the few who can look at this objectively since I wasn't a Panthers fan when NE beat us?

Mayo, Wilfork, or Samuel are hype?

Yea, they are hyped, but not all are overhyped. Mayo is good (not as good as plenty other MLBs though, he's overrated just based on the fact he's a patriot). I'm not saying they've never picked well or anything, but not better than average. Wilfork is solid, Samuel is a bit overrated. But they have plenty of other players that are definitely overrated. I mean, how many years did it take for the media to get off Maroney's jock? He was heralded as "break out pick of the year" every year just because it was NE that took him until NE finally dumped him for like a 4th or 5th round pick.
