comparing Cam to josh Freemon

I have only seen him in six games without the benifit of seeing him in college. He has a simualr physcial build.I think alot of the guy and feel he has a promising NFL career.

Other than his physcial attributes how does everyone feel Cam stacks up to Freemon?

Actually this is a legit comparison. Freeman is big, strong and fast, with a monster arm. Cam doesn't have the monster arm, but his arm is decent. Freeman also played in a mediocre offense, with a first year coach, so...

Really? Freeman looked like Usain Bolt against us last year..

All I'm really trying to say is Newton seems a bit more faster and quicker than him. His agility and able to accelerate is what makes the difference.

Speed in the NFL though is irrelevant... especially at the QB position....its all about knowing when to use it....the reason Josh Freeman is a beast is because he can throw the ball and only runs when need be. With Cam at AUB, he ran if his first option wasn't open. That worries me. I'm not sure if Freeman did the same thing at KU, but he reads the defense now. I'm sure Cam can adjust though...if he can, watch out..

Uh... Actually it's not! You're telling me that Freeman has more/better arm strenth than Cam!?

Cam's arm strength is decent??

Get off Freemans nuts bro... You look and sound like you have NO IDEA what you're talking about.

The only Thing that Freeman has on Newton is NFL Experience... That's it! Cam Newton will run and throw circles around him.

Think if Cam-- Athletic freak of nature

Think of Freeman-- Mediocre QB

This will be a dumb comparison this time next year. You'll see

In 2 years Josh Freeman may be a top 5 NFL QB with his skill set. I'm not on his nuts, I'm just telling you the truth. The comparisons are legit...

At his point all I can do is respectfully disagree with you. I'll give u the fact that there will definitely be debates in the near future about all QB's in the NFC South... You're just the first to raise them, especially within the division. I don't think he will even be top 10 in 2 years... That's just me though.

I'll leave it at that because we're all brethren in here

I'd hope in time Cam will be a better QB than Freeman, if not were in trouble. I think if Cam puts his all into this chance to be the franchise guy, he'll be better than Freeman. Brees and Ryan are the QB standard in the NFC south now, and I'am sure Cam knows this. I hope Cam is hungry, but I think he'll be great if he has the right guys around him.

So speed is irrelevant but you have to know when to use it? That makes no sense. And Cam ran what he was told to run at Auburn... often, it wasn't his choice to run first.

And FTR, Josh Freeman is not nearly as fast as Cam.

I certainly wouldn't say its irrelevant in the NFL. But I will say that unlike college, Newton will be facing linebackers and safeties that are as fast or faster than he is. Some of the dlinemen will be faster as well. That will be a big adjustment for him to make, as it is for every rookie.

I think he knows that. That is why he has been working out with quarterback coaches and ex-QBs. Trying to make the adjustment to the NFL. I don't think any other rookie is working harder right now.
