I think the michael vick situation was what change Richardsons mind

did you not watch the 2nd half of the season when teams adjusted to him in a new offense w/ different weapons? Same ole Vick.....his wheels just ain't as good and he knows it.

Early in the season teams just didn't know what to do w/ him in new surroundings.....no pressure and wide open WRs. Jimmy Clausen could play if teams allowed that to occur.

i'm not going to debate all that. he still has a way to go to be a good passing QB. my point was he improved as a passing QB. if he had gotten started earlier learning how to do the things that he's learning now and that cam has been working on, he could have been a lot better.

if you're just one of those people living off hate for the guy for killing dogs or being that falcon QB we all hated, then there's no point in discussing it further.

at any rate, agree with it or not. i don't really care.

I can seperate the POS person and the athlete on the football field. People were drooling over Vick early last season and it was just premature imo....Vick is an amazing athlete and has to uniquely defended. Teams had no clue what to do w/ him early b/c the Philly offense and weapons and coaching was all drastically different than Atl.

I agree his passing was improved inititally. But he was just standing there w/ no pressure and guys didn't have defenders within 5-10 yards of them. Vick made throws then. Teams began to figure him out in his new surroundings and IMO that was obvious as the season progressed. Same QB overall.....teams just couldn't take the Atlanta blueprint and there was an adjustment period. (then you factor in he is getting older and the beating he took at the end of last season is simply going to take him out and prevent him from being reliable for a season).

his work ethic was better and he was trying to learn how to be a better QB. not the same QB overall. not the same man either.

i can understand that you're not someone who is willing to believe that the guy and player can change so there's no point in discussing further. can't carry on conversations with a closed mind.

No way for you or me to know that.

being under a microscope often leads to a lot of stuff that Vick has shown.......often the actions are simply caused by the microscope effect. Plenty of studies support that. People actually aren't changing, just acting different b/c of the eyes on them.

Not enough evidence or time to claim really anything about that guy.

Before Vick had the season he did in Philly, he couldn't even hold Jake Delhomme's jock. I feel no regret at all from not signing him.

Michael Vick may not have had the prettiest passing stats but you cant be serious about this comment....lmao. Vick has more PRO BOWLS than Delhomme. Besides the bottom line i a football is winning something Vick was I'd rather have a QB throw for 200 yards on 50% cmp passing and win then have a QB go 25-32 for 380 and lose anyday!

Pro Bowls are clearly the best measure of skill that there is.

Vick may have not had a near MVP campaign if he had come here, but he would have been a hell of a lot better than anything we had, simply because of his ability to extend plays.

Defenses were bringing the house at us, Vick makes them think twice about that. Cam will have the same effect...

He is obviously not the same QB. He wasn't nearly as a great as some people claim. But to think he isn't improved from his atlanta days is naive.

After his intial amazing six games. He did come back down to earth, but was still much more of a player then he was in Atlanta and still a impressive player overall. Just compare it to his Atlanta days. Add to the fact that the eagles o-line was not that good in 2010.

As far as his attitude, faking your persona 24/7 for most of the year and being able to fool everyone around you is pretty difficult. And after being in jail, going brankrupt and being publicly humilated I don't think its ludicrous to think he found reason to change his ways. Do we know for a fact? No, we never will, however he has done nothing since to make us think otherwise.

That being said it was the right call for Jerry not to take Vick. Just wasn't the right fit.

I think it had more to do with the fact that Vick was Panthers kryptonite for a long time. It's beyond rivalry, many fans hold a grudge against him. His career here may have gone better than Favre in Minnesota or McNabb in DC, but he would not have been embraced.

Before his great year in 2010 he was a huge gamble and had done nothing to presage that he would be good at all. He had one good year and now Philly is going to pay him 12 million bucks at the age of 31. He is going to begin to break down and get injured as many running qbs do in their 30s. He is only 6'0" and 215 lbs. Not exactly stout or durable. If they trade kolb and pin their hopes for the future on Vick it could be a big mistake.

would rather have Newton now than Vick.

I respect what Vick is doing and I hope he truly has changed but I would prefer not to root for him as a Panther. Just a personal thing. I would never prevent him from playing a game and if he was a Panther I would support him and wish for the best... but yeah. Glad he isn't a Panther, overall.

If by model citizen you mean he hasn't been incarcerated lately, yes.
so you know he has still been screwing up or are you just ASSuming?

dude paid his dues. he got cleaned up and grew up. until something else happens to prove otherwise, thats the truth.
