Auburn Erecting a Cam Newton Statue

I'm good with said statue...

Here's what I'm not good with...

Once he starts rolling for us, and then the inevitable happens... It's discovered that he was in violation and they take his Heisman... That will effect his psyche and in essence OUR team! Im all about Cam, I'm just dreading the day that all of this happens. And it will. Mark my words... Heisman taken, Nationsl Championship stripped from Auburn, and the school put on probation... I can just hear every MAJOR outlet already asking Cam after a horrible Monday night performance... Cam did it have anything to do with them taking your Heisman, or knocking your statue down like they did Sadam's in Iraq!?

Obviously I don't think it happens this year, being I envision it to happen on a Monday night game... So that way they can chew him up and spit him out on the grandest of stages.

Time will tell in the end... And I honestly hope that I'm very wrong. Something in my gut won't allow me to believe that I'm wrong though.

let it go. it won't happen and even if it does, the effect on him will be minuscule unless it does to him what all that crap did to him last year...which is drive him to perform better.

imo, you're paying waaaayyy too much attention to this and worrying too much about essentially nothing.

Thanks for the history lesson on Cam Newton... Thankfully, I already knew all if that, and I also know the investigation is still open... I think somebody else's remained open for a # of years... See Reggie Bush! You people amaze me really, like what I said is so far fetched!? Is it really? I'm not a Cam hater by any stretch if the imagination. I called us drafting him right after he came back and beat Alabama. I have multiple witnesses. It doesn't matter though. The point is, that it can definitely happen. And if u think it's not possible you are just being flat out naive. Cam will be great, and he could still excel if this indeed came to fruition. I for one could go without any outside distractions on a young QB. I'm sure that somebody here will still think that what I'm saying is crazy... It's not. Mark my words.... We have not seen the end of this controversy.

I'm not calling for his head. I want him to be the best QB ever... I don't appreciate being ridiculed about something that actually has a high likelihood of happening. I can also respectfully disagree with people. It's obvious though that some people use this site as an outlet to get rid of their real life anger, instead of sharing opinions about a team that we all love. This whole thing is bananas... Again thanks for recalling Cam's history in 2010/2011. I'm amazed at people who know the future. Please let me know how much more gold I should buy before the prices shoot through the roof again!

No one is calling you a Cam hater. But with all the crap he played through this year most people think losing the Heisman won't effect his play.

I don't think it will effect his play all that much either. I would just not rather that whole scenario play out period.

There is one huge difference between the Reggie Bush incident and Cam. In Bush's case there was actually money and extra benefits paid. In Cam's case there was not. Or if you still want to believe money did change hands, I'll put it as, in Cam's case there is no proof that money changed hands. Cecil Newton turned all his financial records over the the NCAA before they asked for them.

All Cecil Newton admitted was that he had a discussion about money with MSU booster/agent Kenny Rogers. No one knows 100% if Cecil told Rogers that it would take a payment of $180,000 for Cam to play for MSU. Or if, as Newton's close friend told radio host Paul Finebaum, Rogers offered to give

Cecil $180,000 because Cecil told Rogers he had made up his mind to send Cam to Auburn. Either way, as soon as Rogers called MSU booster John Bond for the money, Bond turned him in to MSU head coach Mullen. MSU then called the SEC and they called the NCAA 10 months before the story went public. Unlike the Bush case, there was never even a real $180,000 available for payment.

Auburn's compliance director is a former NCAA investigator. There's no way Auburn would have continued to play Cam unless they had turned over every rock. Auburn never even received a LOI from the NCAA about Cam and they won't in the future.
