Im not a fan of Cam. But I'll give him credit in two aares. One He is impressing me with his desire tttttttto better in areas that manypeople feel he is week in. Second he (To me) has a Steve Smith kinda of mentality when it comes to be people doubting him and saying he cant do it. With the negative feed back he gets, he just goes out and trains to try and prove people wrong. I hope he does.

Best case situation for the panthers is that he and Jimmy turn out to be great starting NFL QB's and we have a QB controversy in Carolina.

yes...you were confused by that interview.

he was talking about ho he and kalil were joking around and kalil said that newton should send the whole oline to mexico to work out. he never said that he went. it just sounded that way to those who were anticipating him slacking off.

Sounds good. I didn't think much of it anyway, since he had the playbook I didn't care if he took his mom to Mexico or not. :P

This is definitely not a bad thing. But you think about if we have Weinke, Favre, Dorsey, all in his ear... plus everyone else we don't know about. God just imagine all the voices next to this kid. I remember reading about Tim Couch after he was drafted. Kosar wanted to help him in Cleveland. It's like at that point, who do you listen to?

I just want to see him working right now. If our own coaches can't teach him what he needs to succeed by themselves, then it isn't going to matter much anyway.

Newton, who signed an endorsement deal with the Baltimore company in February, was in town to shoot a television commercial to promote a new cotton sweat shirt. I didn't like the idea of Favre because Favre seems to be an egotistical headcase... I don't get that from Weinke or Dorsey... some people are better teachers than they are practitioners.

Both of these guys can tell Cam about NFL plays, team life, leadership, etc., stuff that he will need to be a successful NFL QB.

The one thing Favored can do that these two guys were not successful at is Pre Snap read and OL adjustment. Its one of the most important aspects of the game. Its also something Delhomme was very good at and didn't get much cred for.

New to this board, but the stupidity of some people has already amazed me. Yeah, it is a bad thing to get tutored by 2 NFL QB's, one of which has experience running our OC's system. And name me one premier NFL QB who is coaching quarterbacks currently in the league. Thanks, that is all.

They have this neat new invention you should look into Squirrel. They are called airplanes. True story. It appears that with these new machines you can travel great distances in a short amount of time making 1 day business trips a reality. :wink5:

Hey Im clarifying that he just didnt spend 48 hours at home and then went straight to training. It takes a good hour just to fly to Baltimore. Not hating but if they are going to try to make it look like all he is doing is training they better cover the whole schedule.

:lol: you dont have to tell me about airplanes I have been scheduling them for over 12 years. I know the whole ins and outs of how to get people somewhere as quick as possible. Even people bigger than Newton.

Just never been a fan of Weinke after the 1-15 season. I am just imagining how I would feel if Clausen was tutoring or next stud QB in 15 years.

Most "gifted" players make terrible coaches because they are unable to relate to players that aren't blessed with their talents/abilities. Having an intelligent, experienced person that can guide and advise you is a huge boost. While someone might have been a terrible at selling cars, they could also be very good with conveying sales techniques and helping others refine them.

Not only is Weinke a smart guy as Fiz points out he is a formal panther, he knows this organization to some extent. I think it's a great idea to have him teach Cam, there have been a lot of real successful coaches that were only average/decent players. I am glad Cam is working hard, and the Panther's need to supply him with whatever and whoever he wants and needs to succeed, he needs to be heavily invested in. I can't say I am too exited though, I want to see Cam working with his fellow players/coaches and this bullpoo lockout end.
