It really depends on the person. I'm a man who's always had trouble keeping my emotions in check and I've always gotten along best with women who are on the stronger side. I know for certain that I'm not the emotional Rock in my current relationship. I just seem to always be the one who is letting things get to him. Men are less depressed because they have more privilege in life and tend to garner respect more often. A lot of people have no respect for women, so that can cause many upsetting moments for women.

It's sort of like someone saying heterosexuals are less depressed than homos and then making an arbitrary list of 'awesome facts' about heterosexuals.

Of course lack of respect for women is so instilled in our society that it won't get called out nearly as often.
