Is Javon Walker worth a look?

I know he has been injury prone but we gave Hackett a chance and Walker is a much better wr. He will prolly wont ask for much considering he will get a nice sum after his release. Also players tend to leave OAK and provide for the team they go to: Moss and Woodson both skilled players left their and have mad great strides with new team I think Walker can do the same.

Plus Brayton didnt work out to bad for us :)

hes getting canned just dont know how much it will cost them.

Sorry guys, that was simple just trying to start some new idea out there tired of: "Trade Peppers", "Peppers wants this..." or ne thing else dealing with that traitor..But thanks for the insight and GO Panthers.

Oh don't worry, they don't even read the post anymore. They have the same canned response for all threads on this subject.

He's probably not as washed up, but for this team I don't think it's a good idea. We only throw to 2 WR's, and I'm pretty comfortable with Smith/Moose/Jarrett out there. I have a feeling we'll keep Hackett too, for some reason. We have more pressing needs on defense than to worry about more WR's IMO.

100% agree. I don't want him, but I just don't think I'd dismiss him as quickly as some people. I think he's got some gas left in the tank. He's only...what? 30? and made the probowl like three-four years ago?

If we even LOOKED at our 3rd WR more than 10 times a year, I'd think about it. I'm in the group of people that thing Jarrett will pan out if we give him more touches though.

Javon is Rev Al Davis problem $$$$$$$$$$$$$

Does he have anything left in tank

I feel any RAIDERS WR has something left in tank they just want the H--l away from AL

Would I want Javon in Charlotte NO!!!

Id rather bring in Ronald Curry as a #3 or #4

Yep.

While I realize we will need to draft someone to replace Moose in a few years, I just don't think the time is now. Jarrett really improved in his second year, which would have been more noticeable had he been targeted more.

Also consider that Ryne Robinson and Jason Carter will probably be competing for a receiver position. I just don't think it's a need when your second receiver is capable of a 1,000 yard year and you barely throw to your other receivers.

I'm not even going to bring our tight ends into this. My point is that we already have the pieces in place if ever we decide to spread the ball around.

    • well, the comparison is to last year.  The OL is a 180 degree from that.... and overall on the season they have had better skill talent for the same QBs behind a MUCH better OL.    So yeah, the O not looking any better overall is a red flag for Canales.
    • I just want somebody to settle into that Hangartner role and I may give Mays too much credit. He played so well early and has fell off since injuries crept into his vocabulary.  He was struggling to get push on those goal line runs today.
    • You cannot say it doesn't matter who is playing QB ever in any circumstance. The first two games of the season, Bryce was standing in the pocket with time missing throws left and right. We were running the ball well, but even the gimme throws Canales was setting up, Bryce was missing. Then you start Dalton, boom easy win at Las Vegas. By week four's end, three of our best defenders are seriously injured, center injured, 2nd best veteran WR hurt, and best veteran WR quitting on the team.  Canales is a rookie head coach, and he definitely has had some see what sticks moves. But players are being schemed open, the rookies are progressing nicely, and you have the albatross of some terrible lack of talent to phase out. I give him credit alone for pulling Mingo, Thomas, and going with the better/younger producing players. The scheme is better, he just needs better players and I am not going to write him off until he gets more talent, starting with QB!
