Ridiculous Names

So, I work at a predominately african american high school in a very poor and rural area of SC.

Today I was covering a 9th grade English class because we can't afford to pay subs.

There was a student in there named Magazine. No lie.

Other fun names I've run into:

Ka'Quan

Abcd

Varsudula

Timez

reminds me of the story about the girl named Le-a (pronounced Ledasha)

My cousin just named his newborn daughter Harper Joseph, still not sure what to think of it

I guess its kinda goes with people changing the spelling of traditional names just to make them unique.

I can't tell you how many different ways I've seen "Ashley" spelled.

Nevaeh (Heaven backwards)

Precious (Especially considering she was the most evil, racist biznatch ever)

Question though, I thought I might vet the name I plan to give to my future daughter here: Marcyanna

It's the name of my Polish Great great grandmother. Ridiculous, or still normal enough that it won't be scrutinized?

Knew a girl named Storm Smith growing up....I think us white people have something about these really (to us) oddball kids names - they sound like something flippant that you would name a dog in a lot of cases. I feel bad for a kid that wants to go to Harvard but was named after something trivial or silly - "Hey Joe, I'm pleased to present to you the lawyer that will represent your Fortune 500 company in the upcoming trial, Shanayquaylaleela Roberts."

    • We are wearing black jerseys with blue pants. I'm getting a little exhausted with all the combos.  I kinda miss the black/silver and black/black for certain games tbh.
    • Its not something that could be backed up by data one way or the other.  Its just an opinion, like most things stated here.   Regarding my comment that started this discussion, Imo its more difficult to find good offensive linemen than wide receivers, due to a number of factors.  Granted that anyone that reaches the NFL has elite skills, but  I think that most players with the size, strength and skill would rather play on the defensive line.  If an offensive linemen does his job well, no one hears his name.  But if a Dlinemen gets to the qb a couple of times a game, all the fans know it.   Have a good offensive line directly impacts the run and passing attacks.  Where as have a good group of receivers only indirectly impacts the run game.  Miami's run game has taken a huge hit this year, while ours have improved.  I think Hunt is a big part of the reason this is true.  Not the only part of course, but a big part.
    • Where is the Roaring Riot tailgate these days. Probably the best bet
