Is Everette Brown Officially a Bust?

ugh whatever the story may be the point is it takes time and according to the timeline it should be around this year that should tell us a lot about Brown. A lot of reasons not to count him out just yet. If Rivera uses and coaches Brown properly it could help slightly.

Just seemed like around here Clausen, Edwards, Brown and Cam are leaning towards busts, no one gives anyone time or expects rookie mistakes. Above all that people don't consider the kind of season specifically, the panthers had last year in all aspects. Those guys were some high draft picks so if there was just absolutely nothing there I'd think Hurney would be in trouble.

but poeple don't want to hear, 'let's just wait and see'. They all want to make a judgment and talk about an opinion now.

People are harder on EB because he doesn't have DE size. So he is already behind the 8 ball.

Plus, I don't ever want to see a DE bounce off of a QB, and I have seen EB do it several times already. It drives me insane.

PS, Hurney should be in trouble. He has reached in the past few drafts. Only his mid to late round picks are saving him. Seems like all of his first and second rounders are habitually hurt or underperforming.

Brown has not been a starter for us yet. He has played in spot duty in a scheme which requires our players to essentially out physical the offensive player without much misdirection. As such he has been average but honestly other than Johnson, who has looked all that good??

I think in this defense he will look much better because the defense will be fundamentally better than Fox's.

What can Brown do to maximize his effectiveness? Beef up and learn something other than a spin move. Right now he is predictable and too easily countered. He needs to work on mixing things up and developing better strength so he can use some bull rushes instead of always spinning inside which often takes him out of plays and makes him susceptible to the outside run.
