What do they really want out of this?

Mr. Scot

So do they. The question is whether they think Peppers is an ingredient in that recipe.

I would say yes but I dont think its wise to have a player on your team thats not happy to be there. Its not good for the Team gelling when you have lone wolfs on the team.

Pep says the team held him back. We'll see. But, think how Fox will look if Pep does go somewhere else and is the phenom we all thought he would be here.

He never said Fox held him back just that he dose not feel he can reach full potential Playing for the Panthers. Then he said he would like to play for a 3-4 team and said Fox is a 4-3 guy. All in all if pep goes to a 4-3 team I will not be surprised if he dose well. Im just not sure how well he will do in a 3-4. My guess is avg.

No, he's not. He might be, but I doubt it. I don't see him changing agents, just because of his relationship with Carey. (them being best friends) I know how some of you guys think on here, so I had to add that in.

Yeah, unfortunately I agree with you. I blame Carey exclusively for 99.9% of this crap...

I know what Pep is saying but what Marty Hurney is saying carries a bit more weight. He said it was in the teams best interest to keep both Jordan and Pep. They're going to match any offer that comes up.

They really don't have to accept a trade. He (Hurney) just doesn't sound like a man looking for a trade. They want #90 lined up at RDE or linebacker, whatever, the Panthers value Julius Peppers more than any team in the NFL.

So all you Julius Peppers fans have a little hope...

I wouldn't burn that jersey just yet...

Dang I thought we just had the National Peppers Jersey burning day, like a week ago or so. I burned mine then. Dang it you mean I could have kept it.

On a serious note, he's gone. We'll end up trading him before the draft, all that talk in the press conference was jibby jabby, just trying to get teams interested in peppers and to raise his value come trade time.

I think in the end someone will step up and make a trade and YES we will accept less. I think Hurney is pushing the two first rounders so no one in our division makes a run at him. If they did they pay a HUGE price for doing so.

The real question will be, will Hurney match whatever offer is made to peppers. THEN we are going to know what the Panthers true intent is. Like you said mr. Scot, they offered once to make him the highest paid D player in the league. I doubt they do it twice.

I think they will seek the most they can get for him.

I don't think they will accept less than they feel is bare minimum for Peppers.

I'm pretty sure they have no problems with Peppers still being a Panther this next year.

We'll see how the off-season plays out. What teams step up, and how serious they are (i.e., how much they offer to get Peppers.)

Agreed 100%. I think by the draft someone will step up and offer him a sheet and Hurney will workout fair value. It won't be two firsts but I think a first and a couple 3rds or a 2nd will end up being the deal.
