The New York Jets could show interest in acquiring Carolina Panthers WR Steve Smith if they are not able to re-sign impending free-agent WRs Santonio Holmes and Braylon Edwards this offseason.

The Jets want to make another run at a Super Bowl this year and Smith would like to get a ring before his career is over. It could be a perfect pairing if the Jets like the price it's going to cost to get him in a trade.

Whoever gives up the most gets him IMO.

Is a Ring 89's ultimate goal here? I find that hard to beloved if he's willing to go to Oakland, reportedly of course. At this point, I don't care where he gies as long as we get more than a bag of dirty diapers for him.

He could want to go to Oakland for a couple of reasons:

- The scenery: He wants to live in California.

- Youth: When he was younger he might of looked up to the Raiders, thought they were a good team, and maybe he has visions of turning them around.

But who knows? All I know is I keep getting information from different writers that he has The Raiders as an option.

You can't really be serious. Cam Newton hasn't taken a single snap and we have no idea whether he will ever even start / be worth the pick. Sanchez has at least played so at this point...yes. Yes he is.

Sanchez would be the best QB Smitty has had since '08. And I'm not even really a Sanchez fan.

But good to see multiple teams interested. Hopefully it'll drive the price up and get us a better deal...
