Lee Ziemba met with Newton on playbook

Very excited about Ziemba! They say he plays ugly, but that he's a mean S.O.B.

We need more of those.

I agree. THe kind of player who sticks in the NFL 12 years or so. Starts for most of them. Proves the experts wrong.

He is not athletic. He simply loves it.

Probably/possibly will be starting on the right side this year.

I hate to say it, but there are countless players like this guy each and every year.

He may turn out well, he may not. To essentially decide he is going to be a quality player is a little short sighted. Mind you, most people haven't a clue how to analyse OLine play so they generally get a free pass...

Yes, I'd like to see ALL of our team working out. Drew Brees has already gotten most of his team together and has worked out. Although Brees has the kind of money to do that Newton and Clausen don't.

I don't expect either Newton or Clausen to be the driving force behind this. They are a 2nd year and rookie in this league.

Wish we were seeing Gross, Kalil, Beason, etc stepping up and doing this.

Agreed.

I like his chances for a couple of reasons....

He seems to be a real blue-collar player.....and Hurney has a great track record of late round OLinemen being solid contributors.

Great 7th round pick.....after than we will just have to wait and see.

Didn't he hear......

Cam is too busy basking in the Mexican sun to be bothered with such trivial things as football and playbooks.

it's not like other teams and QB's are working out....oh wait....

I hope you know that was a joke between Cam and Kalil about taking the O-line down to Mexico to install the playbook.

Good lord, I swear people will run with anything without checking the facts.

I don't mean to be the downer, but if he is going to be so good, why was he picked in the 7th? Is there some consensus knock against him for something?

He was really bad during the drills at the Combine, before that he was rated a 2nd - 3rd round pick. Also had some concerns about his knee and it's condition.

I started watching during the DelHomme/Smith/Davis era so all of those guys are my favorites. I don't know many players from before then but I'd have to go with Sam Mills. Gotta love "keep pounding" Great motto for on the field and a great motto for in the bed room.

LMAO I was thinking the same thing. I was confused like I was in a different thread.

Since he mentioned "Keep pounding" does anyone know where to to find one of the old keep pounding T-shirts or wrist bands. I'd kill for one right now.
