Could Randy Moss be our Terrell Owens?

I wouldn't much want Moss. The thing with TO is, he has a massive ego, but it's an ego in such a way that makes him want the ball to put up huge stats, so he puts forth effort and keeps himself in great shape.

Moss has a huge ego too, but it's in such a way that makes him think he doesn't have to put forth any effort unless he feels like it. Last year was especially bad (and got worse and worse as the year went on), so I don't see why he'd be any better this year.

I am concerned about the chemistry on this team with Cam and Hogan. (Less concerned about Cam as I was, but there is still concern) Heck, why don't we sign Pac Man Jones too?

Seriously, a big name like Moss could have a polarizing impact on a team. I think the Meshawn Johnson experiment proved that.

Moss is nothing like Pac Man Jones though. For one year, it could be a good fit.

YOu must be a Marshall fan.

Went there from 89 to 93, still own a house near the stadium. Moss has said before that he would love to play with Pennington again, whom I think would help keep him in line. Also I think Chad knows he won't ever be a starter again in the league, but would be ideal as a back up who can win a game or two if needed. I believe he was hurt in a pick up game of basketball, but he's not going to start anyway, I would bring him in as a mentor. Were kidding ourselves to think Cam is not going to be the day one starter, he was drafted too high not to. Of the other fa qbs available, who besides Voleck is going to come here knowing they are destined to be 2nd string by at least

game 3?

Moss could be great for Cam, in my opinion. I compare Cam to Vince Young at this point, great athlete, not sure if he will be a great QB though. Young never had that veteran SuperStar WR on his team in Tennessee.

Moss is a piece of poo person and I don't want him anywhere near a Panthers jersey. Factor that in with the fact he's a one trick pony who provides nothing but a distraction for opposing defenses, and no thanks.

One of the first questions I asked after we signed Jeremy Shockey was "wonder if we'd take a look at Randy Moss too".

It's pretty common for hardass coaches like Rivera to think that they can take perpetual headaches like Randy Moss and turn them into model citizens. Sometimes they can, but not always (see: Parcells and TO) and failure can definitely mess a team up.

There is a difference with Moss and Shockey. Shockey is just a really competitive guy and actually puts full effort in. The second things get tough for Moss he gives up like the punk bitch he is. Anyone remember this story?

Every Friday, the Vikings invite a local establishment to cater the team's post-practice meal. Last Friday, it was a St. Paul, Minn., restaurant -- a favorite of former Vikings center Matt Birk -- that served chicken, pasta, ribs and other dishes.

While his teammates lined up to dig in, Moss lashed out, according to the report.

Moss yelled "What the [expletive]? Who ordered this crap? I wouldn't feed this to my dog," a player who witnessed the incident said, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Gus Tinucci, co-owner of Tinucci's Restaurant and Catering, which provided the spread in question, confirmed the report to ESPN and other media outlets.

"If [brett] Favre would have had a ball, he would have beaned him right in the head. Favre looked at him like, 'Are you kidding me?'" Tinucci told the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Guy is a flat out ungrateful piece of poo.

I don't doubt that story. At the same time its sounds like BS

It was confirmed by multiple Vikings players in the locker room including the owners and Vikings staff if I remember correctly. Gimme a minute and I'll find the sources.

edit-

On Monday Vikings head coach Brad Childress told his team they were releasing Randy Moss saying, "This just doesn’t fit with how we treat people, how we talk to people and how we act," a source told Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports. We've all heard stories involving Moss but the latest one to which Childress is apparently referring came last Friday when the team had food catered into the locker room.

and then another player from the Vikings:

"This wasn’t a chain – it was a mom-and-pop restaurant, and you could tell it was their best stuff. They had a special carving station set up, and there were players and other support staff lining up to eat it. And [Moss] is at his locker saying, ‘You know, I used to have to eat that crap – but now I’ve got money.’ You just felt so sad for them. I had never seen anyone treated like that."
