First time I ever used a coupon at a restaurant

Something you guys need to realize....I'm sure a lot of you already know this.

Yes, they are your server and are in charge of making sure that you have a lovely dining experience.

However, they are in many ways a middle man and lots of things go out of their control.

Example:

your food takes forever to come out. That could be that your server took forever to ring it in OR it just could be that the kitchen isn't getting out food fast enough/ whoever is running the window (making sure tickets/plates are ready and sending out food) plain sucks ass at it.

This can hold up a kitchen like none other. The food is out, but whoever is preparing it can't organize worth a poo. Whenever something like this happens, I normally have a manager come to the table and check on them to make sure everything is OK and also to assure them that the kitchen is, in fact, backed up and their food will come shortly. But, I will say that there were a couple times where my manager didn't think it was necessary to go speak to them. I thought that was just me being a good server and wanting to keep my tables informed and in the loop.

Your drinks take forever to get there from the bar. This is not your server's fault. For all you know the server is over there cussing out the bartender for being so behind and demanding that your drinks be made ahead of everyone's because they have been so delayed already.

This happened last week when I went with my girlfriends to Cantina for dinner on Cinco de Mayo(first mistake). They are bitching about the drinks to our server and complaining that he sucks at his job when he is not he one making the drinks. He is simply waiting for them to be made and then bringing them to the table once finished.

If you are not getting things on time, but your server is making an active effort to make sure those things are done for you, don't tip them poorly. The kitchen people/bartenders causing the problem are still getting paid, you are simply stiffing the one person who is trying to help you out.

However, if simple things are not being addressed such as pre-bussing the table and taking empty plates, re-filling waters and drinks, checking to make sure everything is right throughout the meal, and bringing the check late, then they do not deserve such a great tip.

agree Boo...but I also see servers that are busy yapping at other tables forever while my meal sits under the lamp. If it comes out wrong, typically thats the server's fault as well, most cooks make what the order says!

you would be surprised. Yeah, they might make the food right, but the expo (person sending out the food) might send it to the wrong table. They are making so many of the same entrees with different sides and different meat temps its hard to keep it all organized.

That's why I always made sure that I was looking at my food in the window and making sure that when a food runner was taking it out, it was all correct, at least correct by my memory.

i realize those things. its not hard to figure out when a server is lying. like if i'm told the kitchen is behind, but if all the tables around are getting their food before me. yeah. go lie to someone who's order you didn't forget to ring in.

That's why when you forget to ring it in, you tell those bitches to have it to you on the fly.

Also why you make sure that you are boys with all the kitchen guys. Cuz when it comes down to it, if they don't like you, you aren't getting it on the fly when needed. ^^^ that could also be what she said.

i also hate getting my entree when i'm still working on my app. i told a server at the ale house not to do this, and she still did. she messed up one or two other things too. like mine and my wife's glasses both went empty before getting refills. 15%. her fault.

did you still get some of the....."damn that was a nice restaurant, I think I'll blow you all the way home" action?

No. The IPAs got me good and buzzed so we walked over to Picasso's for some Ole Mecklenburg's. That place will kill any chance at getting a blow job.

Had no idea it was so dead on a Saturday night.

    • Super raw, not sure he is worth a top 10 pick.  Primary a pass rusher.  A bit like Burns, very fast athletic but doesnt always follow the play.  His highlights look good but when you watch him play you can see he is just raw and needs to develop
    • Personally, I am not sold on Bryce yet--and I do not think anyone is saying they are, but I don't think Ward is on table when we draft anyway.  Not even sure if I would rather have him than one of the later QBs.  I see a lot of potential in Allar, Nussmeire, Rourke, and even Hamilton from Ohio State--Milroe is intriguing, but I am not sure he is an NFL QB.  Ewers is that sleeper who falls and becomes a solid starter. I think that we sign a veteran who has played and we draft one of these project QBs. To your point:  With that in mind, I think you have to take QB off the table in round 1, and if Bryce can string 4-5 games like KC together, we still need to draft a QB in round three or so---I really think Rourke is a great fit for this offense--he is accurate and gets the ball out quickly---he impressed me vs OSU.   Reason?  I think we may have a tough decision to make about Bryce in 2 years--will he be worth $60m?  That decision is a lot easier if you have been grooming a backup for 2 years who can play. In round 1: I am hoping for PSU's edge Abdul Carter In round 2:  I would like to see us grab a DT who can rush the passer.  Walter Nolen of Ole Miss is versatile and a bit raw. I think he could be an excellent complement to Brown. In round 3:  I would love ILB Danny Stutsman from Oklahoma.  He is a beast. With 11 picks, I would package our 4th rounders to move up into the third round and take a QB.  At the moment, I think Rourke is trending upward and he has the skills Canales seems to want in a QB.  Quick processor, quick release. I would use the fifth rounders on OL.  I know that I left out WR--however, we are getting Thielen back, XL will be improved, Coker will be improved, and Moore has been surprisingly good.  Sanders (TE) has been more than expected in the passing game.  I think we need D more than WR, and maybe we can get a veteran WR to sign or find a hidden gem late.
    • Wouldn't be surprised if he starts a couple Jets games this year with the way the Rodgers thing is going. Giants fans are pissed they didn't keep him lol. He might actually have a little bit of a market.
