Running Plays for Newton

Who was the sixth QB last year? Moore, Clausen, Pike, Null, St Pierre and....

I don't think Null or Pike actually attempted passes....or am I wrong?

I just think he is an idiot because he is using last years offense in his reasoning. Rivera has said this is how they will use him and I agree with that. But for the author to use Armanti Edwards two attempts in a lame mountaineer package last year as the premise to his theory is idiotic.

Exactly. It was not a good article. But it raises a good question which is how do you think we will use Newton.

Tony Pike did and he didnt play well at all, not sure on Null.

I don't think we'll be calling on Newton to run much, will see allot of play action and bootlegs.

It was Moore, Clausen, Pike, St. Pierre, Armanti Edwards and Brandon Lafell who threw passes last year.

And I hope we use Newton's legs in a variety of ways. But using bootlegs's to get to the outside in pass/run options is a great way. It is going to force people to stay at home on running plays and not just fly to the ball, it will force linebackers to make decisions on where to attack, it will allow receivers more time to get open, it will allow for one on one running matchups for Cam that he should win with his legs and could result in big gains.

From what they are saying publicly I am really excited about the way they intend to use him and his unique abilities.
