We didn't draft Cam Newton to ride the pine. As much as I'd love to see Orton in a Panthers uniform, we have made a huge investment in Cam Newton, and I'm excited about it. I agree with Bulger or Volek, or hell, if Brunell hasn't retired, bring him in! He seemed to do good job with Sanchez.

It would be idiotic to get Vince Young to mentor Newton. Why would you want a suicidal unimpressive rushing QB mentoring Newton? You wouldn't.

Also, I never said anything about trading a 2nd rounder for him, but who knows? All I know is we need a veteran QB, one not named Matt Moore.

Our QB Situation needs to be rectified. We should start next season with Cam, Jimmy, and a Vet FA.

Cam should start. Why not? Let him make some plays with his feet, hand the ball off to DWill and JStew. Give him some simple pass plays, and tell him not to throw picks. Throw it out of bounds or whatever, just don't make stupid plays and try to force throws. That is the biggest obstacle that a rookie can face, is trying to make something out of nothing and trying too hard. Cam can manage a game, he just needs to work at being able to confidently call audibles and throw the ball into defenses that he recognizes.

Have Jimmy and the vet FA battle for #2 in case Cam gets injured or he can't handle the game just yet. But Cam needs to start and get experience. He is the number one pick, he is the new face of the franchise, so he needs to take the position that we drafted him for.

Matt Moore and Pike should be gone. If we don't get a vet FA, then keep Moore. Whatever, these guys aren't really in the picture anymore.

true, but it would also be idiotic to bring in Kyle Orton who will not be happy about coming in as a future backup. Orton wants to go to a team where he will start for years to come, in other words, Arizona, Washington, Seattle and Miami are teams that will look into him

If the Panthers wont trade a 2nd rounder you arent getting Kyle Orton. THAT is what it will likely cost to get Orton, if you want a vet. look at someone who wont complain about being a future backup, guys like Volek or Bulger, even Brunell is a better idea than Orton, but Volek makes the most sense.

i personally would get rid of Jimmy Clausen for whatever you can get re-sign Moore or sign a vet and have Pike as the 3rd stringer. i personally think it should be Newton, a vet. and either Moore (on a one year tender) or Pike.

It's not Fox's call on keeping Orton, it's Elway's and i think they could trade him if the price is right. Brady Quinn is a 3rd stringer and he would be a good backup for The Golden Calf of Bristol, but if i had to guess, Orton stays and battles The Golden Calf of Bristol for the job.

Too much MONEY, Orton is gonna want big bucks, and we still have to see what Newton's contract is gonna look like. He also isn't that very good in the red zone his completion rating in the red zone was almost as worst as Clausen's.

It's too early to make any kind of predictions about who might be available, who we are going after, etc. I am just looking for the season to start at this point and for things to unfold. Then at least we can see what our options are at that point.

he NEEDS to change that mentality. you dont use first round picks on QBs to sit on the bench and The Golden Calf of Bristol NEEDS to be looked at. Orton is good, but he's on a one year deal and Quinn is a backup. i think they should go with The Golden Calf of Bristol and let Quinn be the backup, BUT i think Orton stays and they compete for the job. Fox doesnt play young QBs much, but i think he is for letting the best player take the job.
