Smitty to Chargers rumors heating up

Recommended Posts

Call me a hater, but I don't want to see Triple Crown Smitty, or Super Bowl Smitty on another team. I love Smitty, but I love Smitty as a Panther. Lets be honest if Smitty was on another team all these years he wouldn't be "Passionate Smitty the Hero" we'd all look at him like "That ass hole punt returner for [insert team here] that punches people in the face." Smitty has every right to do what he feels is best for him family and career and I love him to death but my cheering for him will stop when he stops wearing teal and black.

I will never see Smitty as a guy like that.

No matter who he plays for he'll always be the most competitive athlete I have ever seen in any sport, and the guy who carried this franchise on his back for the past decade.

The same way Delhomme is one of my favorite players to this day, despite his recent failures. If it wasn't for them I may not have kept watching the NFL as much as I do today.

^^that is a joke right?

well don't be surprised when something like that happens lol..Steve Smith wants to go to a top contender, and V Jack needs to go to a team that has a better support structure to deal with any off field stuff..AJ Smith isn't afraid to get rid of a player we all know that. We probably have to give up more picks then one but just don't be surprised if this all goes down to some degree..I don't think the panthers would give up a playmaker without getting a playmaker in return.

Smitty for Jax will never happen. Vincent Jackson is in the prime of his career, and the Chargers will demand a King's Ransom for his services, because hes actually worth it.

And yet Brandon Marshall got traded just last year..why would they even be keeping an eye on Smitty if they weren't looking to get rid of one of their other recievers they have enough otherwise.

I feel Delhomme is different. Delhomme would have stuck by this franchise till the day he died and WE kicked him out. Steve wants a ring and stats and I can't fault him for that, but at the same time we gave him a chance when other teams wouldn't as a rookie and his early career, we gave him chances other teams wouldn't with some of his past transgressions and injuries. To me it looks like when he was down we stuck by our guy but when our franchise is down bad he wants to jump ship. I don't blame him he's not getting any younger but I certainly don't agree.

while I agree that VJax will never be a Panther, he probably won't net as much as many people think. He's one off the field screw up away from a big suspension(I believe he has 2 DUI's so far).

The Panthers FO did themselves a favor by giving Smith a chance. He isn't my favorite player for no reason. He has been an absolute monster for us. And I can't believe people are still ok with him leaving if it wasn't for Smith we would have had a lot more seasons like we had last season. He has carried us season after season and now he is getting old just like every player and we still have not been able to put a suitable supporting cast around him. I'd be pretty pissed off if I was Steve Smith too.

I would be ok with him going to the Chargers because that is what he deserves he deserves to have a franchise qb throw him the ball. If he would have played with a top 10 qb his entire career he would easily be in the HOF.

I know, I know, it's apples and oranges, but Atlanta just spent 2 first round picks, a second round pick, and 2 fourth round picks for an unproven Julio Jones.

If we can't get a second rounder, or a really good player in an exchange, I don't make the deal.
