What I love about this board, is that we are all supposed to be Panthers fans right? Well when I DONT want to hail Newton as the second coming of Jesus, and that I think his father tried to sell him to SEC teams, and hes a thief, I get my SWAG bashed by dudes who think he is a Pro Bowler and HOF QB already. I really think that the getting neg. SWAG issue, alot like getting neg. feedback from Ebay sellers when you leave neg feedback as a buyer needs to be changed. If you have left me neg rep. because of anything I've said about Newton its rude. Feel free to re-SWAG me when he sucks, just as I will feel free to ADD SWAG you when he does well. Im not looking for a new team because I disagree with the pick (and still do). There were dudes who make a bigger impact for us than him at #1. My argument the whole time was you need someone to come in and make a direct impact on WINNING games at #1, and I dont think that Newton does that for us.. I never said he wouldnt. I just said I dont think that right now, we ARE better than we were before the draft.

I totally agree. Within 5 minutes of posting a similiar response on the 5th I had been neg repped with a message "SWAG Nazi".

It is well documented that I have concerns about Cam Newton. But I can say that he said, and I believe it, that he would have picked this situation (Carolina Panthers) if he could have. In other words, I think he feels blessed to be here. He seemed excited to be in Charlotte. Still, I would rather have had Andrew Luck.

Andrew Luck had a chance to come to Charlotte and turned his back on us. The reasons he waited to announce? What were they? The reasons he gave were obvious in October. The only reason to wait would be to see where you go in the draft and what your coach is going to do. Harbaugh left and he was certain to go #1. He returned because he didn't want to play for Carolina.

That reminds me of another first round QB who didn't want to come to Charlotte. Kerry Collins. My take on this? At least Cam wants to be here. I hope Cam does well and Luck goes to Cincinnati and sucks.

I dont live in NC. I live on the West Coast, where its not polite to have sex with your sister, roll the confederate flag on the back of my busted up Toyota, or beat my wife. Where it is polite to go to the dentist, get a quality education, and be a functioning member of society.
