Smith supposedly wants out...

I think Smith will be released. I believe the organization respects him enough to send him to a team he wants to go to, so that alone limits our trade options. There are (probably) only a handful of teams willing to take on something like $14 million dollars in contract money for a 31 yr old receiver.

meh....not going to happen. screw respect. it's a business. they aren't going to just outright release him nor should they. dude is under contract.

absolutely dumb.

yes I know it's a business, but you act like it's easy to trade an old, declining receiver with past locker room problems and a big contract.

Teams honor trade requests for players all the time. For a guy like Smith, for all that he's done for this team, it's not dumb to think they'll show him some respect on his way out.

trade request is fine, but cutting him loose? sorry...just dumb. we'll find a trade partner. he won't be released.

word is there are already teams interested.

i don't care what he's done for the team. if he's under contract, he's a commodity. richardson said that he walked all over fox the last couple years. doesn't sound like he's owed crap.
