lol thanks, rayzor. i've really enjoyed reading your posts the last couple of months....especially the posts regarding Malzahn's offense. it's exactly what you've been saying...the verbiage is simple because it needs to be(to play fast) but the schemes are anything but simple.

Sometimes you have to take risks if you want to be great.

Colts took a risk with Manning and it paid off.

Cam is going to pay off huge for this franchise.

I'm glad Mr. Richardson and Hurney decided to take a chance on Cam. We as fans should be forever indebted to them for bringing such excitement and Swag to Carolina.

You won't need to wait that long. Cam is going to lead us to 12-4 this year and all the way to the conference championship!

We'll likely come up short in the SB this year but I fully expect us to contend as long as Cam is our starter, which will be for years to come. He's big, fast, strong, accurate, smart, motivated, everything you want in a QB.

If Manning was half the player Cam is they would have more rings by now but Peyton brings that team down come playoff time :cam:

Matt Moore sucks! Cam Newton is the only QB worthy of being in the NFL. Ya'll are just a bunch of honkies who hate "winning" and can't accept that we now have a "winning" QB as the face of our franchise.

I had my doubts about Jerry but he's proved me wrong and has made me believe he really cares about winning at all costs, even if it means putting a young, black, troubled, marginally talented QB at the helm of his business.

Carolina Panthers 2011 FTW!

Dude you won't be here long with the name calling!

i've actually been hoping for years that we would run more hurry up offenses. always seemed like that was when things worked best, esp. with jake...but fox just wanted too much control over what was going on and davidson was just too slow. fox didn't like having an aggressive offense and even apologized for it last year on one of the few times things actually worked alright.

its just an absolutely aggressive philosophy, gives you more opportunities with the ball, and wears out defenses. you add to that the multiple formations and looks as well as a lot of movements and a few gimmicks to keep the defense on their toes and you have a monster.

one thing i love is that to do it, you have to have an offense that is not only faster than every other team, but one that is better conditioned than any other team. malzahn's offenses in practice have a 20 second rule between plays. that ball has to get back to the LoS and snapped quick. you keep the pace up like that and there is no one going to be able to wear you down. i'm thinking that is pretty key in their comebacks last year. that and cam's ability to fire the guys up.

no wonder that so many coaches from all levels are trying to pick his brain.

true. it will take balance. at least this coaching staff understands that. no more round pegs in square holes.

We'll see what happens. You could argue our pick was round peg in square hole. It will have to be more NFL offense than college offense because there is simply too much speed in the NFL.

ITA what i like the most about his offense is how adaptable it/he is. not only does he adapt to the talent that's around him but he also adjusts his playcalling to fit different situations in games. if it's in their best interest to play fast, that's how they play. but in situations like last year's UK game, if he needs a 15 play/10-12 minute drive to close out a game, he'll slow it down and chew clock.

i'll be shocked if he isn't a HC in 2012 but if he's not, i'd love to see him get a shot at OC with an NFL team. don't get me wrong, i'd rather see him on Auburn's sideline for the next 15 years but i can't see it happening. i'm still kinda shocked that he turned down Vandy's offer.
