I don't know about winning the division or anything crazy like that, I think we'll be 3rd and close to .500, but I'll say this, they'll be deadly in the Red Zone. We will have a high red zone efficiency. To be a good team or competitive it will come down to how the defense plays and how we move it between the 20's, how many chances can they give themselves inside the red zone? The problem I see will be will be in between the 20's. Also don't forget Jeremy Shockey, he's going to be a weapon if he can stay on the field.

I think we will be last in our Div. Its really not a knock on us as much as how good every team is.

we might get off to a slow start, but I never look at the schedule and say "oh thats a loss". Call me a homer or whatever but I'm looking at a team with a bright future

I don't look at it and say it's a loss, but I'm really worried that we're gonna eek out 4 or 5 wins and folks will be disappointed.

I'll be satisfied if I'm seeing marked cohesion and improvement throughout the season, even if we're a few games below .500.

I'm with you. As long as Cam doesnt look worse than Jimmy and the coaches look competent I'll be happy as hell. This team has a lot of talent of both sides. Coaching and Jimmy killed us last year. I can easily see at least 5 games and wouldnt be shocked if we got up to or over 7. Rivera wants to run the ball. Last time our running game was up to par we went 12-4 with Davidson calling plays and Jake "the manager" Delhomme.

I'm expecting big things from our run game if Cam is under center... he will keep defenses honest.

Big things from the run game will translate to big things from our play-action passing game. Look for Gettis to have a big year.

I dont think anyone could look worse than Clausen TBH. Saying that I think we will see some great games from Newton. We will also see some games where we say damn... That was bad.

Im prepared for the backlash as soon as we lose our first game or two. "see i told youz heez teh bust". Then we win " Cam not the only guy on the team". Anyway this season is pretty much guaranteed to be better than last.

i'm looking expecting to see the same results this year as i am from a rookie QB (any rookie QB).

progress.

i expect more wins than last year, but the bar is set pretty low.

what i expect to see is a group of guys and their coaching staff going through some growing pains, but having things click. finding out what works and what doesn't, and then building on what works and either eliminating those things that don't work or getting them fixed if they are necessary.

i expect them to get better from week to week, keeping in mind that 1) those improvements may not show up as wins this year and 2) there will be bumps and potholes on the road.

i would love to see us surprise everyone and show up in the playoffs even as just a wildcard, but be real...this isn't the NFCW. there are good teams in this division and the saints, falcons, and bucs are legit candidates for the playoffs, even with a tough record. it really hurts our chances of squeaking in.

i expect that we will get between 5-7 wins this year and i would be fine with that, provided we see progress from within this team.

I think the only definitive thing we can predict is that this team's offense is going to be a hell of a lot more exciting to watch

true.

even without the addition of newton, this was going to be a more fun team to watch. chud isn't really known for being a boring OC.

I now it is fashionable to blast Edwards but I think he will be like Good son last year, he will make a contribution especially if Smith is gone.
agreed.

it might only equate to 2-3 catches a game, but still he's capable of doing a lot when he gets comfortable with that ball in his hands.

the game should have slowed down a good bit for him. same with the other non-smith WRs on the team. these guys should be a lot mroe confident in what they are doing and it will show up in stats and TDs.

as i say that, though...i have in the back of my mind keary colbert going from year 1 to year 2 and on and on. still need to have that vet in here just in case, and i'm not trusting smith to be that vet here.
