CLOVER --

A York man says a friend he had been partying with all night robbed him at gunpoint Saturday morning after the friend claimed he stole his drugs.

David Lee Ray, Jr., 26, of Clover has been arrested and charged with armed robbery and petty larceny, according to a York County Sheriff's Office report.

The 28-year-old victim said Ray called him about 11:30 a.m. Saturday asking him to come to his house in Clover, according to the report. When he arrived, Ray accused him of stealing his crack/cocaine stash and money and demanded it back.

Dad accused of leaving baby in parking lot of Catawba store

http://www.heraldonline.com/2011/05/09/3053402/dad-accused-of-leaving-baby-in.html

CATAWBA --

What's the worse feeling you can ever imagine? Tiffany Beck says it's not knowing where your child is.

On Saturday about 8 p.m., Beck and her ex-boyfriend, Adrian Dunham, 32, were returning from a family cook-out in Catawba. Their 1-year-old son, Zadrian, was in the back seat.

Beck and Dunham, the child's dad, hadn't been getting along all day. When they stopped at the end of Old Friendship Road, Beck said Dunham shoved her out of the driver's side of the Impala and drove off.

Zadrian was still in the back seat.

"Having a baby hurts, but this hurt way worse," the 23-year-old Monday. "I could hardly breathe. All the life went out of me."

According to a York County Sheriff's Office report, Beck had a severe limp in her right leg and cuts on her right ankle, but she wasn't thinking about that.

"All I could say was, 'He has my baby,'" Beck said. "I didn't even feel the pain. I just felt the pain of not knowing where my baby was. That's the only thing I was worried about."

Four people at G's Country Store on Lesslie Highway took Beck's information and offered her a ride to see if they could find catch up with Dunham.

Though people told her Zadrian was gone for about 30 minutes, Beck said it felt much longer.

"To me, it felt like forever," she said. "That's my first and only baby. He wasn't an accident. I planned him, I wanted him. It felt like eternity."

While Beck was searching, Dunham returned to the store and dropped off Zadrian in the parking lot, still in his car seat. He drove away again, not saying a word to anyone, according to the report.

"He doesn't talk about his feelings," Beck said of Dunham. "I think he just went out of his mind for a second."

Beck said she doesn't want anyone to think Dunham is a bad father.

"Da da" was Zadrian's first word, and Dunham used to get up in the middle of the night to help take care of him, Beck said.

Zadrian also looks just like his dad, she added.

"He's always done good for Zadrian, always been there for him since he was born," she said.

Deputies with the York County Sheriff's Office have warrants out for Dunham's arrest.

Dunham has an arrest record dating back 1995, according to a State Law Enforcement Division background check. He has more than 20 charges, including two criminal domestic violence charges and three assault and battery charges.

He now faces charges of criminal domestic violence and unlawful neglect of a child.
