I really dont think Cam cares alot about the number or not. He's worn other numbers. He said he would try, but if theres a bunch of trouble about it, he wont pursue it. He'll be great with or without the number 2.

And it's a punter that is not only in his mid-30's but a punter who has been with seven different teams. Not like a guy who has been here 16 years. The guy is a journeyman, run of the mill type guy. Just cut him and sign Reggie Roby or something (too soon?) :eek6:

i dont think he should have it because it's his trade mark number. guys like DeAngelo Williams had to switch from 20 to 34 and Sam Bradford went from 14 to 8. who cares if he's the top pick, it doesnt mean he's entitled to the number, but i dont think he cares about it as much as people think.

nope you arent the only one. i think he wants the number, but isnt going to make a big deal out of it, same with Jimmy. if Newton wants it and pays for it, Clausen will accept and if he doesnt want to pay for it, he will wear another number.

I've never heard so many opinions about a fuging number..

it doesn't mean poo if Clausen gives it up. It means money talks or Clausen really wanted to wear number 7.

Hurt me to read this! I think it means alot...and I want to see Jimmy take a stand and show that he wants this to be his team. If they (foolishly) give Cam his job, that's fine, but don't step aside. I want to see him fight and scratch and claw for the starting job, and refusing to give his number is a small but symbolic part of that.

My opinion of Jimmy hangs in the balance on this....he gives up that number and its gonna be hard to respect him the same.
