it became obvious we were going to draft him aroudn a week before so i didn't have any real animated reaction. Those who did not realize this were raped by their own denial.

What Was Your Reaction When Newton Was Drafted?

1) :( Aw Cr@p!

2) I got a queasy feeling in my stomach as I watched the teams that followed us pick one by one the best, sure-fire players in the draft at their positions knowing they would immediately be able to contribute and make them better teams...while we had selected a player who will not be able to contribute for a while.

I'm not ecstatic about the pick even now, but I am going to pull for Cam and hope that he turns out to be the dominant, successful QB we all hope he will be.

I had my brand new 3 month old son (first kid) sitting on my lap to watch it with me... He will only watch sports, cries when my wife puts on cartoons (especially veggie tails)

Anyways, we watched him get drafted together with my wife and we all were super excited. I had my wife take video, so that my son can see how tiny he was when we drafted Cam. That way when Cam leads us to multiple Superbowls, he can see that he did watch him get drafted. I don't know, maybe a Lil corny, maybe a stretch... But it might be cool. He was born on SuperBowl Sunday and the nurse brought him in as the Steelers received the kickoff... Pretty awesome feeling.

To sum it all up! I was very excited about the pick! I have A Lot of friends in the military that are NFC South fans that did NOT want us to draft him because of the fact that they didn't want their teams to have to see us twice a year with him at the helm. We talk shyit to one another daily and have all come to realize that Cam will succeed at this level and more quickly than most people even realize. The Media has created the mantra of him not succeeding... Any real fan of the game knows it's just right around the corner. The problem lies in the casual fan listening to the media and jumping on their bandwagon essentially making the media's opinion their own. My buddies are scared to death of him... And if they are, I can't imagine how a defensive coordinator for our rivals feel!!
