No, that is not what the "cat" in the video did. The play was designed with three vertical routes so the corner had to choose which route to cover since it's assumed the safety will cover the guy running right at him. He takes inside, Cam throws outside, he takes outside, Cam throws inside. They start in a bunch formation to the right. Outside and inside receiver off the ball with the guy in the middle on the ball (that means he's on the LOS). At the snap, the middle receiver comes across the middle then turns it up right at the safety, drawing his attention, the outside receiver takes it hard at the corner then breaks it off towards the hash keeping the corner's interest in him, the inside receiver goes roughly 2 yards up field then turns into an out pattern. This accomplishes a few things. For 1 it lets the corner that is covering the post think he will stay in the flat and a linebacker will cover him and 2 it gets a quick slot receiver in one on one coverage with a linebacker. After the inside receiver sells the quick out, he turns it into a chair patter or out and up and turns it up the sideline. At this point, the corner is already committed to covering the post pattern and if the receiver is covered at all it will be by a linebacker that he can run away from. In this case, no one even covers the wheel route because the linebacker is staring in the backfield. It's a very basic play and many high schools run this. If Cam hits that man in stride he likely streaks up the sideline for a touchdown but the ball is thrown so poorly he has to turn around to catch it therefor giving the corner time to get off his man and make a play after the catch. Sure it was complete but it was a terrible fuking pass.

I didnt see trips right 32 on those plays? Did you just use that as a reference or did you mean 36?

prob meant 36

also it's really difficult to analyze his progressions just from a play, unless it's an obvious option run read. if you watch it live you can kinda tell, or if there's like crossing routes over the middle which are just there to hopefully confuse the defense.

also those post routes in almost every play are there for Cam if he rolls out of the pocket, so if he does that then his first read would be go deep if its there or take off and run if it's not.

if the panthers tailor their offense correctly, and everything indicates they're going to try, his adjustment to the nfl won't be as horrific as people are indicating.

LOL I was trying to bate TRD into doing that.:D Yea its obvious some of those plays are designed for him to bail if he wants and those plays are mostly set up for 8 in the box with a FS covering deep. 36 draws the SS and MLB away clearing a path for cam if he chooses. Oh yea I would expect a good amount of high low reads for cam to use his skills. Shockey is def going to be helpful if he can stay healthy.
