I have been a frustrated Peppers fan for the past 3 years now and I will not be cheering for him if he is back in a Panther uniform. If the Peppers of the earlier years shows up my view could change.

I think the overall fan base at the stadium will be brutal if/when he is doing absolutely nothing against single coverage.

One of the things that always got me made about Pep (and I know its his personality) but I think this can permiate through a team AND that is when the defense would be getting their asses handed to them you dont see Pep pissed off. He is just smiling and chatting with his and the other teams players. I think if he is back in a Panther uniform and continues that the fans will be booing him now. I know I will.

What are all these Panthers fans going to do if Julius comes back and his teammates welcome him back?

I dont understand why people are going one way or another on Peppers. This has all been a cat and mouse game from the start. Pep is not gonna be a Panther this year cause he dose not want to be but Other teams have to know that we will keep him if they dont put up atleast a 1st round pick. You always bid high and expect people to talk you down. Thats how it works in every business.

I think he will be back. I haven't really trashed Peppers for any of this. He thinks he wasn't used correctly. Fine. We know that's BS. But it has been about money all along even though he might want to not admit it. But his actions say other wise. If he does go, I think the Panthers will be a better team in the long run. He may have not been a Jenkins in the locker room, but I think he was undermining the team by his play over the the last couple of years. 2008 was just trying to get a new contract for a new team.

Why do so many people think this? He turned down a huge money contract before last season. Coming off the crappy year he had, if he was all about the money don't you think he would have taken that?

nfl networks said the deal we offered him was worth 90 million dollars with around 30 - 40 million guaranteed. Now tell me would you have choked if you heard that on sports center after the 2.5 sack year we pay him a 90 million dollar contract.

I think the best treatment for Peppers, isn't booing.

that shows interest.

Silence.

Silence on introduction.

Silence on those rare, and I do mean rare, occasions he makes an impact play against an impact team, not named detriot and not named Oakland.

This man will make a million dollars a game. Think about that. He will be able to do whatever he choses to do in retirement and never, ever have to worry about a job or money like the rest of us, even if he does absolutely nothing but stand there.

I hope he is traded. I hope he is as valuable to others as he thinks he is.

Don't go away unfilled, Julius, just go away.

If his teammates and coaches are genuinely welcoming of him and they feel he makes them a better team that is the most important thing.

I will hope he plays his ass off and helps the team. I will cheer when he makes a big play. I will also never feel quite the same about him again.

IIRC, two years ago when they put Jenkins on the trade block, Hurney asked for a 1st rounder, nothing less. Rams were rumored to have offered their second round pick, which a lot of us thought was good enough. Of course they didn't make the trade, but I think that's what started the rift between the Panthers and Jenkins and made him talk all that subversive crap in the media/locker room.

The two first rounders are actually the starting negotiating price. We all know no one player is worth that much, it's proven too many times to sting the one team that made the trade (it's happened to us). Given the balance between Peppers freakish physical build and his age, among other things, I don't think there is a person on here that wouldn't accept an offer of a mid-first rounder straight up. Remember we were almost on the verge of not getting anything for him at all.

If not, Hurney's going to have to pay 16 mil to a player who's heart is not in Carolina.

THe real issue is how much Hurney wants Peppers to play in Carolina. If he is telling the truth, then he wants him here a lot and it will take two firsts to pry him away.

If it is a negotiating stance then he will take something less. Jenkins isn't a good comparison since he wanted to leave for a few years before we actually agreed to trade him. It was only when we also wanted him gone that the trade was made.

Nothing at this point would suggest that the Panthers want to trade Peppers. Sure they will, I suspect, if the price is right. But Hurney has been saying the same thing all along which is that the Panthers want Peppers to be here. Period.

It will be interesting to see what transpires.
