Transferring large files over the internet

I have a friend who needs to send me some Pro Tools session files (2-10 GB per). I've heard about Drop Box but it costs $10 to send files over 2GB. Is there a cheaper (free) site that can transfer files of this size? Anyone else use a service like this?

Windows Skydrive is supposed to have much more free space but I only have used dropbox...

Well you could set up a free FTP server on your PC and whomever needs your files can then download them off you. Filezilla is free and has worked for me in the past. There's probably guides on how to set it up/port forward what you need.
