Starting Slot WR for the Panthers next Season?

Sorry to rain on the parade, but Smith will be the slot in three receiver sets. At times last year it was LaFell, but now that he and Gettis have a year in I look to see them out wide in the three receiver sets.

Now as far as who's the other slot in four receiver sets that is a tough one, Armanti is the more experienced, though Pilares (I assume) will be much more polished and will have a smoother transition considering he played slot in Hawaii his Sophmore thru Senior season. So with that being said and the fact that he's been described as "fearless" going over the middle I think in the end it will be him.

I think the long term the potential exists for either one of them to become the number 1 receiver with Smith vacating the spot by either switching to slot or leaving the team entirely. Whomever takes over the number 1 spot, the other will be the primary slot receiver.

Wow, we whiffed on Dwayne Harris. He was there for the taking, but we grab the backup from Hawaii.

I hate the Cowboys, but man did they ever get a big-time steal.

I actually liked Pilares more, just based off his pro day 4.41/4.37 on a knee that had a pcl sprain 3 months prior, plus a 40 inch vert.............

I want armanti to get first crack at the job. Yes I think there should be a competition, but by default I think Edwards should be allowed to prove his worth.

I don't think anyone is going to be given first crack at the job... The slot WR spot will be "best man wins" even if there is no training camp.
