...I think if he plays this year and doesnt want to be in Carolina we are better off without him. Folks say we didnt have much of a pass rush last year so what are we going to be missing?

Possibly, but the public war saying Peppers is only willing to entertain 4 teams and the price tag say maybe not...

In the long run, yes, I think the Panthers will be better without Peppers. Not only was he about to cripple the cap for the Panthers (money that could be used on several other potential players), but his presence would be a huge distraction going forward, whether intended or otherwise. The Panthers D will not progress any further until the Peppers situation is resolved. Keeping him around for another year or two would only prolong it.
