To the "yes we Cam" people

Recommended Posts

Reagan needed to get alzheimer's before he started saying stupid things that made no sense. You manage to do it without any outside help.

As to the original post, people saying "yes we Cam" doesn't bother me, but I do agree the general football discussion will go much better if we stay away from discussion of politics, race, and anything else other than pure football.

If we start this whole 'everyone with a negative opinion of Newton is a racist' tactic now, we're well on our way to being AFMB II. Nobody with more than half a brain wants to see things go that route.

After reading the tone of these post I agree totally.

If we were to compare Cam to a black political figure(Congressman), let it be one with balls and honor...that also happens to be a military guy which fits the "Football is war" metaphors

example, after pulling a Jack Bauer type stunt in Iraq to protect his Men:

"“If it’s about the lives of my men and their safety, I’d go through Hell with a gasoline can..... There is not a person in this room I would not sacrifice my life for." -Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Allen B. West

Or let it not be anyone at all, for positive or negative.

Let's just compare football players to other football players and leave the politics in the Tinderbox.

Gotta admit, "Yes We Cam " will make for a great logo on a tee shirt or sweatshirt. I remember how well the "Got Jake? We Do!" went over back in the day. I sense a marketing sensation. Regardless of how anyone feels about politics, that slogan ("yes we can") is now ingrained like the term 'soccer moms' is. So don't sweat it as far as associations with anyone.

Yes We Cam! I like it myself!

Like Heath Shuler.

(This joke is funny because Heath Shuler was considered a football player, but is now in politics...please don't take it to an extreme.)

You guys are making me explain my jokes, in fear of getting flamed.

He has gone home due to the lockout. He has a playbook to learn, and working out with teammates would help him learn that tremendously. He went home instead, using the lockout as an excuse. Unless I don't know the whole story, and I am sure someone who doesn't know the story either will jump in to defend his actions, this could be the beginning of the work ethic criticisms. Do you want to be great, Cam? If you all want to crown him because he won 14 games in a simple offense in college do so, but not in the name of the Panthers. He has done nothing for us yet.

Just like yourself I don't know the whole story; but please help me understand how working with teammates would help him learn the playbook. This playbook is new to all the current Panther players. None of the players are familiar with the terminology. This same point was brought up on NFL Network; a playbook without a coach to break it down plus film to support it is like being given a book on how to speak French and going on vacation to Paris. It is pretty useless. Also if want to curse him for what he done at Florida and Auburn do so , but not in the name of the Panthers because he has done nothing wrong as of yet except hurt the feeling of those who didn't want him.

There is a guy trying to sell a pool table in one of these threads. I think he is doing so as a racist metaphor. You know, cause the white ball (Aka whitey) is the ball that is used to knock all the colored balls (aka anybody but whitey) off the felt (Aka earth).

Calling someone a name because they don't agree with you makes you the moron. So I am supposed to now get giddy over Cam leaving town because you are? I want to see his dedication. The issues/questions with Newton did not go away when we drafted him. In fact, if you knew anything about football or playbooks you would know that veterans would help him get ready faster. I see the need to get his ass on the field as soon as possible.

Name calling is a violation of this board. Learn to accept other opinions without getting personal. In other words, grow up.

Give the kid a break man. You don't like him. You didn't want him. We get it.

He's here now. He took his Mom on vacation. Jesus. It's not like he's Ray Lewis at a strip club getting 2 people killed or Ben.

He's a Panther now and he's our QB. I suspect he cares more about his peformance than you do and unlike you and me, he'll get to prove it on Sundays when it counts.

It's a game, not life.

We also have potentially a bust that will destroy our franchise and transform it into the LA Panthers. Who gives a poo about potential. After he does something then I will make up my mind whether I support him or not as a starting QB. Fugger can't just walk in off the street like he owns the place. Put potential in one hand and poo in the other and we all know which one will fill up faster. Potential is nothing but we can HOPE he works out.

I just ate a couple big bowls of grits and greens. In a few hours I will potentially be able to fill up both hands.

Actually, he was at a charity kickball event that Jordan Gross put on... Already showing that he's a team player... Meanwhile convincing Smitty that all hope is not lost.

As for the rest that you said... You summed it up pretty good yourself...

"He hasn't done anything for us YET"

Have patience young grasshopper... It WILL happen
