Might as well be North Carolina panthers. No one associates SC with the panthers. Richardson was just being gracious with the name. Carolina also sounds better. SC is just the nfl tumor on NC's back.

May be but the Panthers first home was in Rock Hill. The training camp is in SC, the 1st season was played in SC. Richardson said all along that the team was the Carolina Panthers, not Charlotte or NC, that the team represents both states and it took support from both states to get the team here. Fox should have said something about the St Petersburg Bucs since thats where they are.
