Round 5: WR Hawaii Kealoha Pilares

Also, if you look at that video someone posted of him in this thread doing a clean or whatever it was, the dude is built almost EXACTLY like Smitty, arms look pretty long, hands look unproportionately big compared to his arms and build, and he's stout. It's been said ad nauseam he is super strong and a converted RB...

Why has Smitty been so good? Because of his ability to get YAC AND to go up and get the ball. The first part, from seeing him play before and being impressed and then getting refreshed with the highlights from the USC game, it was clear to me he is a playmaker once the ball is in his hands.

The 2nd part I wasn't sure about, until I saw on a less than 100% knee, the guy ran a 4.42 at his pro day (which are usually slightly exaggerated), but there is no exaggerating this - THE DUDE HAD A 40.5" VERTICAL AT HIS PRO DAY. So, I think he may have that 2nd part down too... incredible.

Check this out under the dated blurbs on him:

He sounds cool too, when telling people he was going to run under a 4.5 he said people "looked at me like I was on crack." Although he ran a 4.37 in training.

I'm unabashedly taking ownership of the Pilares fan club as president and CEO right now. I called it the day of the draft that I had a good feeling about Gettis and kept telling everyone that he was going to be a player for us and possibly move up to the #2... Guess what happened?

So, I'm telling you right now - Pilares is going to be a player for us, and if Smitty is gone, he's gonna make some waves, possibly the #2 this year.

he doesn't sound as mad at the world as smitty does though lol

that mega-sleeper article pointed out that this could be considered a pick that the smart teams like the colts/patriots make in the later rounds...we must of done our homework.

I'd like to join you guys in the Pilares fan club. I've never heard of him til now, but I saw the pick and for some reason I can't stop being excited about it. As to the last statement, I do feel like this is the kind of pick the smart teams make in the late rounds. This Pilares fanboy club is awesome!!!
