I vote for 'Pampers' or 'Mario Williams?' or 'Salts' (get it...awful, sorry)

Stat of the Day #1:

Number of Peppers jerseys for sale on eBay: 50

Number of Peppers jerseys with bids: 3

High bid: $0.99 (excluding limited edition pro bowl jersey)

Stat of the Day #2:

Only jerseys numbers to not be represented in the Pro Football Hall of Fame: 23, 48, 69, 90

hmmm.....ok, nevermind, it means nothing.

Pep isn't a traitor. Don't get me wrong, he (and Carl Carey) have conducted themselves in an awful manner, and the way are they are going about business pisses me off. But at the same time, I'm not mad at him for wanting to leave. I'm upset that he wants to leave, and I'm angry at how he's handled the situation, but I don't think he's a traitor.

Put yourself in his situation.

You've been at your job for 7 years, all with the same employer. You've fulfilled your contract and now you want to move on to another employer. You do this because you think it's a good career move, not because you want more money (your current employer is willing to pay you as much as anyone). And despite all that, you are called a traitor for wanting to do what's best for your career.

The difference is obvious. Peppers has fans. Presumably none of us have fans at our jobs (pause for a minute to image that - kinda hilarious). We get pissed and want to call him a traitor because we feel like we are a part of this - a part of the organization. We get upset because we're fans - passionate ones - and that's natural. But I don't think it's justified to call him a traitor. Now if Julius pulls a Brett Favre (i.e. giving another team - the Lions - inside information about the club you are still under contract with) then he deserves to be called a traitor. But not now. Right now he's just a confused football player that sees his career reaching a crossroads and thinks he can perform better somewhere else. Traitor? Nah.

But I will gladly call him something absurd and immature. "Doodiehead!"

understandable but to put the organization and the fans in this predicament says otherwise...if i was at a job for 7 years and wanted to go in another direction great...but this is a different kind of business and he could have gone about it in a much more civilized manner...i hope for the best but if he really cared about this organization he could have atleast kept all this sh$t outta the press and not make me and other people who truly liked him feel like morons!

But was that Peppers or his inexperienced and influential handler? Peppers is kind of like a chimp at the zoo. Sure, he's strong and athletic and he may be able to pound his fingers on a keyboard and eventually may make a word or two sound coherent, but he still doesn't know what the thing is used for.

So he trusts his handler to tell him what's what and what to say and do. Doesn't mean he could or would do the same if he did it himself, or even had the knowledge/intelligence to do so. I think this has Carey written all over it, he doesn't know what he is doing, but has enough intelligence to know what he's got in his only client. Not sure I'm all that mad at Peppers for just that reason...

No facts were used in any way to make this post, simply an opinion...
