I would guess the back to back DTs shows that what Rivera needs at the position is more specific than what Fox did. Fox got away with some bottom of the barrel players some years at the position. I'm guessing Rivera doesn't want to do that.

Reading more about Terrell McClain I understand this pick a lot more. He has a similar (not same) background as Coach Ron Rivera. I think Coach Rivera may have gotten a real gem in this pick. McClain seems (from everything I have read so far) to be a real "heart" player. If you remember Coach's first presser he was talking about teaching and getting players with heart (desire). I look forward to what Coach Rivera has in store for this coming season!

we still have free agency to go through as well. i'm feeling better about the Dline. i wouldn't be surprised for us to pick up another DT for some reason, but i'm glad we got that out of the way if we are planning on hitting other weak spots.

can't wait to see what we pull off tomorrow.

i'm sure there will be a few in here pissing and moaning because the picks aren't what a few prick analysts said were good on their boards, but whatever.

i've got confidence in rivera. he'll make sure we get good players that fits what he wants to do and he'll make good things happen. he didn't exactly have a butt load of stars in san diego last year and managed to pull off the best defense in the league.
