You can't trade compensatory picks. We had the top of the third round, sure, but I bet you we tried to get into the middle of the 2nd and failed to because the price was next year's picks and we weren't willing to do that.

didn't know that about the comp. pick, but one of those teams traded up into the 2nd IIRC by just using their pick later in the round and a 5th... Doesn't seem to steep, but I wasn't there, so idk...

Just would've liked to see one of those guys as a Panther more than what we have now. Hope I'm wrong.

Fua can play NT....I can speak first hand...I watched him push Kristopher O-Dowd back 3 yards almost every play when Stanford played USC....

And btw, the comment about McClain was a joke, I had heard of him recently... And I remembered Fua from Stanford games I watched, and he looked good in them... But, not like a dominant, or even a starting NFL DT. Like I said, hope I'm wrong.

DEFENSIVE TACKLE SPECIFIC TRAITS

Versus the Run 2 At his best versus the run. Displays natural strength and an above-average anchor. Stays low with first step

and gets a good initial push. Can consistently hold ground against most one-on-one battles and flashes ability to anchor against double

team. Needs improvement with hands in combat. Takes too long to disengage from blocks to redirect and find the ball when caught in a phone-booth situation.

Overall range is marginal and will have limitations making plays outside of the tackle box.

Pass Rush Skills 4 Not overly-effective in this area. On one hand, displays good anticipation of snap count and can immediately

gain initial leverage. Displays good pop and can get an adequate initial surge. However, lacks elite power to consistently finish bull rush

attempt. In addition, does not have a wide variety of pass rush moves and needs refining as a counter puncher. Closing burst is just

average.

Quickness (hands/feet) 3 Does a nice job of anticipating snap count which provides a quick first step to establish position. Displays

a strong and compact initial punch however lacks quick hands in combat to consistently keep blockers away from frame. Lacks elite lateral

quickness to redirect and finish play in the backfield when creating initial penetration.

Toughness/Motor 3 Appears to have excellent natural and brute strength. Plays with an edge and does not back down from

challenges. Lacks elite endurance and would like to see him become more of a consistent finisher.

Fua just sounds like a guy Rivera would like, west coast guy, seems to be a very gritty player and thrilled to be given an opportunity.

This kid could be really good. He's incredibly strong and has a huge initial push of the line. What he lacks is lateral movement, awareness and just general technique polish. With some good coaching he could be nasty.

Okay, I can watch highlights of almost any player owning at some time.

No one KNOWS if they can play, even scouts who study this for a living dont know. They are making predictions just like us, but the difference is theirs are waaaaay more informed.

They are looking at leverage, pad level, hand quickness, reactions, strength, etc, etc, etc. Not seeing someone push someone in the back field.

Nobody here knows if we just drafted a probowl DT or someone who is going to be cut soon.
